This is my 4th hammock. I liked it because it seems weatherproof and I can leave it up. I haven't had it long enough to know how it will hold up. I wouldn't really backpack in with this one but like I said, I have three other hammocks. The wooden balance beams are why I would not want to backpack with it. The overall weight isn't much but the space those beams would take up in a backpack are why I wouldn't take this one. The weight limit said 250 lbs. While I'm just a tad bit over that, I didn't see any concern while hanging in it the other day. The ropes could easily be replaced with stronger ones if needed. At $22, this is a steal. ... show more

Everyone loves a hammock, and this is a decent hammock to have. The netting is strong and not coarse against your skin, the construction is strong and does support two people. I like that they put metal guards in the eye of the cordage to reduce wear when in use. The spreader board is a bit short, so you do end up in a cocoon like a bug. It comes with cordage to tie off with and should last. The carry bag is decent although getting it back in like it came can be a challenge, a bigger bag would be nice. ... show more

This is perfect for the RV. It stores small in it's own bag. It's easy to hang between trees or off the RV. It's light weight and breathable yet strong and surprisingly comfortable. Might have to get another for my wife.

We have a perfect space on our deck for a hammock, and I was looking for one that was super breathable for the hot Utah summers. The typical nylon backpacking hammocks can get pretty warm, and if left out in the hot, dry sun, they tend to fade and the cords can become brittle. I was intrigued by this one because of the wooden "balance beams" that I thought would help make it easier for my 3.5 year old to get in and out of - and it certain did just that. He loves it! The wood is definitely layers of plywood glued together, so it isn't a fancy hardwood by any means, and there are some minor chips/flaws, but they don't affect the integrity of the hammock. The mesh fabric is perfectly breathable and adequately comfy. Each end has a loop that's reinforced with a metal ring, which makes the attachments to the cords feel really sturdy. They're quite thick, though, so my original idea of clipping it in and out using carabiners won't work because the loops are far too thick for even oversized caribiners. The braided cord that is included is plenty long for any sort of hanging options and feels adequately strong. The largest member of our family weighs about 165, and it handled him just fine. I had used traditional cotton rope large mesh hammocks before. Typically, the lasts within 3-4 summer seasons, stretching out and fraying. This is my first trial of a small mesh soft nylon hammock. I found Outerman Double Breathable Soft Nylon Hammock lightweight and very compact to store. It comes with mounting ropes and a decent storage bag made from the same material as the hammock.
