Perfect little trees. Green with white flocking and peppered with pinecones and red berries. That's my favorite combination and is what drew me to this set. Just twist on the base, fluff out the branches, pop in batteries (not included), and decide where you want to put it. The tree portion is indeed 24" and the prong base is 5" (roughly 25" and 6" actually). The lights are better than anticipated. Plenty of soft glow and several lighting options which is typed on the battery box. Requires 3 AA batteries. Battery box has easy access battery compartment. Just flick the tabs back, insert batteries, then snap the tabs back in place. On the outside is a single button. Press to work through the various options: 1. Combination 2. In Wave 3. Sequential 4. Slow Glow 5. Chasing/Flash 6. Slow Fade 7. Twinkle/Flash 8. Stead In 9. Off Not a timer operated battery pack. This will require manual on and off. I initially intended to use these outside (might still) but maybe I will use them inside as it is also nice to have accent lights in the house to cheer up the dark cold evenings (and afternoons!). Will have to scroll through all options each time you want to turn it off. Quick to do, but I figured it was worth mentioning. Can be used inside or out. Lights are soft war, not going to light up a dark night outside, more of an accent. Easy on eyes inside. Base has 3 very sturdy prongs. Press into ground, or better yet use a planter or foam block in a vase or planter. Can opt not to use the prongs and instead cap off the bottom (cap included). A lot of cute looking trees out there, and the attractive price compared to others as well as the white flocking is what really made me choose this. Very pleased with this set of trees. I'm still enjoying the fall, so these won't be put up until early December. But I looked it over, everything looks good, confirmed the measurements, popped in the batteries to try it out, put the base on to make sure it is sturdy (and easy), and overall... everything is perfect. For the most part I like these little trees. They have mixed branches, which basically just means that they have different looking pine branches mixed through out. They also have some pine cones and red berries here and there too. Some of the branch tips are flocked (white sprayed to give a frosty/snow effect), but not overly done. The trees have a decent amount of tiny fairy lights that can be set to several different lighting modes. Overall appearance is pretty good. The lights run on batteries, so there is a battery pack which also has the ON/Function/OFF button. The batteries are not included and each tree requires 3 "AA" batteries. The battery pack has 2 clips that hold it shut. This is made for indoor/outdoor use, but I'd be careful not to let the battery pack get too much moisture exposure. Using these on a covered porch is probably best. I wish these had a battery or plug in option because once they're set up I have to go outside each time to turn them on/off manually. I also have to cycle through all of the light modes to turn them off. I feel like a separate button for the light modes and ON/OFF would've been much better. These can be used indoors or outdoors, but the base is 3 big prong/stakes that go into dirt. Unless you're setting up a big pot of dirt inside, then these are best suited for outdoor use, but again the battery operation makes them sort of impractical for outdoor use too. I really feel like battery operated isn't best suited for these and that a plug in option should've been an option. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This set of trees are OK. They're cute in the dark, but kinda a pain to fluff and make the pinecones and the few lights look even. Bolts to screw on base were different sizes on each base. One was really long and the other was so short the nut had to removed to use it. They take 3 AA batteries each. Battery case is made to hang off bottom branch. Settings button is on battery case. ... show more

I've been searching for several years for the perfect small outdoor trees to go in the planters that flank my garage. I absolutely love these! The quality is good, they are weatherproof, and they look pretty realistic! They have a mix of different styles of branches and berries, and they have white flocking that looks like snow (See photo). They came very well packaged so that the branches were not damaged in transit. You do have to fluff out the branches, but it did not take long at all. The base of the tree is actually different than the one seen in the seller's photos, which appears to have four prongs. I posted a photo of the actual base of this tree, which is a single trunk that can be stuck into floral foam, sand, etc. I actually prefer the base I got because I know it will fit into a variety of planter containers. The only negative I see to these trees is that they are operated via battery packs as opposed to being able to plug them in and put them on a timer. That said, at this price, they are the nicest trees I have seen in several years and I am very happy with this purchase! ... show more
