  • Amazing beginner lense
The media could not be loaded. I was a little skeptical about the lense from select reviews and the crazy low price for such a high mm, but my expectations were smashed. It’s very light, the quality of the zoom and the images themselves are great, its manual however it’s not too difficult to get a hang of, imo I enjoy it more since I’m just a starter photographer myself and it forces me to really get the picture the way I want. It’s made out of sturdy durable metal which was also a surprise and the glass lense are of high quality. Amazing buy if you want to start getting into shooting the moon and far away animals. And it fit my T7 Rebel perfect with the little adapter, would buy again ... show more

  • Don’t pass this up - hear me out!!
I am a complete beginner using outdated equipment, and this lens is worth every penny. For context, I was gifted an 18 year old Canon XTI camera with a 75-300mm lens one week ago. I'm literally still trying to figure out the manual settings with that autofocus lens. I quickly realized I needed a lens with more zoom if I wanted to get good close ups of birds… but I also didn't want to spend the money on one. I figured I'd take a chance on this, and worst case I'd be out less than $100. The lens was delivered at 6pm tonight, so I had roughly 1.5 hours to assemble and figure out how to use it if I wanted to get any pictures this evening. The lens is super light weight and very straightforward to assemble/use. It would definitely do better with more daylight, but these images at dusk came out fantastic! I am so pleased with this purchase and eager to get better using this lens! ... show more

  • Definitely Worth It
Before and after editing pictured. I bought a cheaper lens because I typically only shoot daytime and wanted to try some basic astrophotography. Boy, this was a good investment. This thing is a chromatic aberration machine, however defringing is easy (when on a computer). The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because it’s probably not beginner friendly if you wanted to shoot in JPEG. I would only shoot in raw using this to make sure when correcting the chromatic aberrations that it doesn’t look wonky. And it still might, somewhat but for what it costs and the result you can get from it, you can’t really beat it. You definitely need a tripod to shoot with this unless you just have an unnervingly steady hand. For my Canon R model friends, get an adapter mount. This fits an EF mount so I bought an adapter that fits onto my canon eos R50 and mounts the EF lens onto it, works like a charm. For those of you that don’t know why it’s not taking photos automatically, look to the release shutter without lens setting. Sometimes the camera won’t communicate with the lens, especially with an adapter so this will allow you to release the shutter! Overall: Great lens for the cost, I wouldn’t shoot anything fast moving inside with this, you may get away with some animals but you will need a tripod/monopod since the image stabilization is nonexistent. This is a lens you need to correct for in post, so shoot in raw and bring it into camera raw or Lightroom to defringe it. Good luck! ... show more

  • Great for the Price
For the price, I have no complaints at all. I bought this to take wildlife photos in bright and sunny Arizona using a Canon EOS REBEL T7 and it works well for my purposes. Just make sure you use a very strong and stable tripod and a remote shutter and you'll get some great shots. I also plan to take some shots of the moon and I'm anxious to see how those will turn out once the right nighttime conditions present themselves. ... show more

  • This lens is incredible!!!
I've been an avid birder for three years now. My sister got me into watching birds to get me through depression after losing our beloved furbaby of 12 years. I am attached to our backyard birds. Each of these photos were taken with this lens. You will need a very stable and heavy tripod for the lens. It's around 5-6 pounds in weight. You can also buy a remote control for the lens that helps keep the blur and noise out of the photos and a teleconverter that will zoom 50% further away. I have purchased expensive lenses, but this is my absolute favorite!! ... show more

  • not best quality
you need to be in perfect light conditions to take good picture with this lens and the manual focus could be tricky sometimes. I used this for a solar eclipse, so it worked well as i had the time to find the sweet spot for the focus.

  • Did not work period, could not even get a single non blurry shot despite trying all settings
I really wanted to like this lens since it felt like value for money, but not sure what was I thinking seeing all the nice pictures posted by others in the reviews since I could not take even 1 decent shot in about 100 tries. And yes I read about all the manual focussing limitations and different settings I needed to change for ISO and Shutter Speed. I did try it against the moon, against other landscape items in full bright sunlight, with and without tripods, but the lens would just not focus into other than a blur (and I am not even talking about when I clicking the shutter)... the lens focus from the view finder itself was always blurry aka out of focus, despite trying to focus several times with different focal lengths (yes I tried from 420mm all the way to the 800 mm). I also tried with two DSLRs that I have Canon Rebel XSI and T5. May be it works with more high end and newer models... too bad this is going back. ... show more

  • specks inside the glass that affects pictures
There are specks inside the glass that affects pictures. We tried cleaning the lense but discovered it is the glass that has a bubble in it. EDIT: Customer service is great... They are sending out a new lens immediately Wonderful service!!!
