We bought this bed for our aging pitty girl to replace her old bed that had seen better days. The features that caught our eye was the ballasts on the sides and back and the orthopedic support. Her old bed also had the ballasts and she used them as pillows, so it was important that a new bed also had them. The bed came all “shrunken” in a small box, but took no time at all to “inflate” and reach full size. It was easy to assemble and the fabric seems to be high quality that should be pretty durable. I appreciate that the cover can be easily zipped off to wash. The only negative point is that the bed makes a crunching sound when the dog walks on it, which is due to the waterproof material covering the main mattress. I like that it’s waterproof, but it seems to annoy the dog sometimes. I think she gets too warm at times because of the waterproof cover as well. These were easy to put together and the pup and the old man both seem to enjoy them. They are not as fluffy as their old beds but the egg crates inside make them soft enough. My dog loves this bed. She has always liked things with “pillow features.” The size is perfect not big and not to small. We ordered the large as our dog is around 55lbs. My dogs have been through a handful of beds and different sets of covers to lay on. But after making some changes around home, we were trying to get away from the random old comforters laying around. I originally purchased the XL model (42x30x7.5) for my 2 shelties. They are on the bigger size for their breed and they fit pretty good on the XL one, but depending on how one of them would lay, the other would have issues getting in without causing an issue. I went back and did the XXXL (50x36x7.5) version a week later (and we'll use the XL one for when we go camping or traveling in the car). It's slightly massive for the area we have, but they LOVE it and they can both fit without disturbing the other. The egg-shaped mattress keeps my older Aussie mixes hips off the hard floor when I laid on it I could not feel the floor it was so spongy. The assembly was easy as pie.
