  • Good chainsaw
Style: No Battery Pack Included
This was a replacement for another chainsaw that my husband accidentally ran over with the ATV. We liked the original one and bought a replacement exactly like the damaged one.

  • Best Chain Saw I have ever used, for many reasons!
Style: 2.6Ah Battery Pack Included
I have used several chainsaws over about the past 30 years. Almost all of them were gas powered. Some were easier to use than others, but none of them was as easy to use as this one! I has never used a battery-powered chainsaw before, but after much research, the Oregon seemed like the one to get. I have not been disappointed. While it is not as powerful as some gas powered chainsaws, it does have several advantages that make up for this: 1. It always starts. I have often struggled to get gas-powered tools started, which can make for disappointment when the tool decides to stop running and needs to be restarted. This is never a problem with the Oregon saw. 2. Self-sharpening. This is the only chainsaw with this feature. It eliminates one of the most tedious tasks associated with operating a chainsaw. It sharpens effortlessly in seconds, a major plus. 3. Chain rarely needs tightening. I've had this saw for about 8 months and I rarely have to tighten the chain. When I do, it is quick to adjust. 4. Does not leak oil. Maybe I'm lucky or something, but this is the first chainsaw I have ever seen that does not leak oil when stored. "They all leak oil" is accepted wisdom with chainsaws, but this one seems to break that rule. 5. Battery lasts a long time, with even power until empty. A 6.0 battery will easily last me a couple of hours. 6. No more buying, carrying, mixing and pouring of gasoline. Just keep your batteries charged. The fuel is as close as a power socket. 7. No gas engine maintenance, priming, etc. 8. Cuts reliably and well, if a little slower than some gas chainsaws. If I add up all the time I save compared to trying to start a gas chainsaw, fooling with gasoline (buying, mixing, carrying, pouring), adjusting the chain, manually sharpening the chain and cleaning up leaked oil, I think I definitely save time and effort using the Oregon. All this is to say that the Oregon CS300 is so easy to use that I do not hesitate to use it. I know I will work when I need it to, without giving me needless headaches. It is my favorite outdoor tool. I hope this is helpful. ... show more

  • Just the ticket
Style: 2.6Ah Battery Pack Included
This is the perfect saw for me and my tree filled acre lot. No fuel oil mix to go bad, no carburetors to diddle with. I would say it has at least 85% of the cutting power of my old gas chainsaw. It more than makes up for a slight drop off in performance in convenience and for what I'm doing most of the time, cutting 4 to six inch limbs, I don't even notice a diference. The 2.4 Ah battery is just right for me. It's not like I'm into an all day logging opperation. I just need to cut up the limbs that fall off my trees. Some of these limbs are 14 inches in diameter and 30 feet long but most are 4 to 8 inches diameter. I also got the standard battery charger and it will put me back to full charge in 90 to 120 minutes. I am not in such a hurry that I wanted to pay $80 for one that charges in thirty minutes or less. If I ever decide I need the 4 Ah battery I'll buy it then. Another plus. Less vibration than my gas saw. Another plus, It stops when I stop cutting. It's not still running while I'm walking to another limb. Just push the button and one second latter I'm cutting again. Git ye one. One caveat. To use the built in chain sharpener you have to buy a particular Oregon chain. It's slightly more expensive but I believe it will be worth it in always having a sharp chain. ... show more

  • This is a great battery powered chain saw
Style: 2.6Ah Battery Pack Included
I really like this saw. I have the 2.6AH battery and it usually outlasts outlasts me, but I have a spare battery.. Higher capacity, heavier, and more expensive batteries are available. The chain adjustment does not require a screw driver.

  • A high quality saw, very rugged and heavy.
Style: No Battery Pack Included
My older model CS250 Oregon chain saw gave out this year after 7 years good use. When came time to replace it was an easy call to go back to Oregon. The CS300, newer model, is heavier and more rugged than the older one. Expect many years of good performance from this saw based on my limited use so far and 7 yrs experience with the 250. Have used on trees of up 12" diameter. Works best in the 6 to 10" sized trees, brush and limbs. Our saws get much use on our Oregon timber farm. For larger dimension we go to larger saws but this one serves most routine cleanup and trimming needs. Usually get up to 45min per charge on 4.0 Ah batt. ... show more

  • Excellent Tool, Only One Asterisk
Style: No Battery Pack Included
This saw is excellent. Easy to handle, light, efficient, a long enough bar to cut some significant diameters. The on-board sharpener does away with one of the more annoying chores in using a chainsaw. It uses the same battery as other Oregon tools. I have their line trimmer and pole saw. So I bought this "tool only." I have a 4aH and a 6aH battery with a standard and a rapid charger, for the three tools. The batteries have more energy than I do, for sure! I always quit before they do :-) The only asterisk on my 5 stars is this: out of the box the two halves of the main body were not fully tightened with the torx screws. I filled the bar oil, and it sat overnight. Pretty much ALL the bar oil leaked out. After tightening, all is well. But, you will want to check and tighten the body screws before oil fill and use. Highly Recommended. ... show more

  • Getting better and better
Style: No Battery Pack Included
This is the second Oregon electric chainsaw I have owned. They are getting better. You do not need any tools to tighten the chain. It is very light weight and of course when you take your finger off the trigger it is silent and not constantly running like a gas powered saw. Self sharpening is amazing. ... show more

  • Perfect for home
Style: 2.6Ah Battery Pack Included
Took it out of the box, charged it up (~45 min). Cut down and chopped up three apple trees growing out of one stump. I got the smallest battery. It still had some juice left in it but that was about it. From the first cut to the last, like butter. For what I need this is perfect. Haven’t had to use the self sharpener, the primary reason I picked this one. I will update if things change. ... show more
