Update: Seller reached out and refunded the winch. I may have gotten a defect on an otherwise nice winch. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again. Good customer service. Handle hits the other gear ratio shaft every rotation. I had to trim it down to get it working.

Bought as a replacement of a 1800# cable winch for my pontoon trailer, this 3500# strap winch has almost double the weight rating and should not have failed on literally the 3rd use, trailer and winch stored in my pole barn so it wasn't exposed to the elements, very disappointed, and sad that I'm out of the Warranty ... show more

item does what it's suppose to but the only complaint i have is that once the strap is about half way wound up it starts to rub up against one of the bracketing bolt heads.

Update: the seller reached out after I reviewed the product and issued a full refund, so I’m pleased with the customer service. Bought this 3500 lb winch to replace a 1100 lb winch with a torn strap thinking it would be good to have some extra strength. It showed up and the handle was on the left side, which interferes with the trailer stand crank. Should have returned it then, but I kept it. Then on the 4th use the internals stripped so it doesn’t pull the boat when I turn the crank. And, of course, it’s a couple weeks after the 30 day return period.
