I was torn between a thin metal pizza peel and this Bamboo peel. I really liked the look of this one and figured I can serve pizzas off of this too. Once I got it, I realized that this was a good decision. The peel itself is nice looking and definitely has some weight to it. Not so heavy that it's hard to handle, but definitely not light weight. I'm glad I got the 16" peel because I can prep the pizza on it and launch it in the oven when the pizza is ready. I don't use this peel to turn the pizza, even though I can use it for turning. I just find it easier to use the Ooni pizza turner. When you do use this to turn the pizza, you'll need to pull the pizza out and turn with your hand. Not a big deal but I just like turning it in the oven. If you do use it, make sure you don't leave it on the hot stone too long or else the bottom of the peel will burn. Mine is just a little black on the bottom but works perfectly still. This would be a good addition to your pizza making tools. ... show more

Launches pizzas very well. Just make sure the pizzas move on peel( by shaking) before you attempt a launch! Use a little pizza flour on peel

Nice and large for my take and bake pizzas. It is very heavy. Maybe it should be a little thinner. Otherwise very nice.

  • Solid pizza peel
Size: 16"
Great for prepping the pizza. Just make sure to add semolina to the surface so the pizza dough doesn’t stick. Remember, do not let the pizza dough rest on the peel too long, or else the pizza topping will begin to make the pizza dough stick causing a launching disaster. From peel to oven should be 2-3 min. Also, give the peel a good jerk before launching to make sure the pizza can easily slide off from the peel into the oven. Put the peel in the oven at about a 15° inward angle and slowly pull back shaking the pizza loose from the peel taking extra care not to let the toppings fall all over the stone. If at first you don’t succeed, launch and launch again. It took me three tries to get the hang of it. Good luck! ... show more
