These pens are so much fun! My kids will play with these for hours on end! The trick is to have an embossing/heat gun on hand that you can get at any craft store. We tried using a hairdryer and it didn’t work but puffs within 30 seconds of using the embossing tool!

My daughter saw these on a youtube video and begged to try them. I had pretty low expectations but they're actually really cool. There was a slight learning curve to getting the right amount squeezed out of the pen as you write but once we figured that out the effect was awesome. It is kind of like silly string when it dries, not smooth lines, but it's a nice textured effect. We used a small heat pen instead of a blow drier and it puffed up and dried in no time. I was excited to try the Magic Puffy Pens, but unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to the hype. The pens don't really create a puffy effect, it's more like a wrinkle. Considering the price tag, I don't think they're worth it. They're just okay, but not impressive. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a dramatic effect. ... show more

These are so cool! We found two things during our trial run. First, make sure you use heavy, even application. You may be able to see that my daughter’s drawing, which used lighter lines and dots, puffed up less than the heavier concentrated lines. Second, use a traditional hair dryer. I was using my daily one, which uses infrared heat and while it was working, it was taking a really long time. Switched over to a traditional Conair 1875 and everything puffed up much faster-I’m sure it’s hotter. Still takes a bit, bit it works and the results are so fun. ... show more

I rarely write reviews but this product deserves a good one. I bought these for my daughters birthday and was worried because of all the negative reviews. They absolutely do work! Based on what I read in all the reviews, I skipped the hair dryer and had my husband use his heat gun. The ink does puff up and the kids love it. It is a little hard at first to get the hang of getting the ink out, but my 3 year old and 6 year old are currently playing with them just fine on their own right now. They just ask daddy to use the heat gun when they’re done. Absolutely no complaints. Would definitely recommend. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I read some comments and was worried at first cuz people said didn’t work. But it does I used a HEATGUN it was the cheapest and work amazing this puff for reals my kid was so surprised. Also used a canvas and it was great
