It took a month for this cap to start triggering dash warnings that no cap is detected. That obviously means it is NOT compatible. Do not purchase because you will be outside the return window when it becomes faulty.

    • It solved my check engine light problem
With sky high gas prices I decided to get a locking gas cap - this one works great and is reasonably priced. As a bonus, it solved my check engine light problem. Gas caps are part of a vehicle's fuel vapor emissions system and after ten years (more or less) it apparently loses it sealing ability and can cause the the check engine light to go on. I did not buy it for this reason because, at the time, I did not realize it might solve my problem. It did not cause the check engine engine light to go out immediately - it took about a week and then no more check engine light! We bought this due to recent vandalism issues. It fit well initially but it actually didn't seal very well because the sensor on our car kept going off. So we went back to our original one. So I would say we either had a bad one, or it just didn't really seal appropriately for our car. It'll probably be hit or miss depending on your model ... show more
