  • Very Nice!!!

Very Nice! Love it!

  • Great scope for a great price
Style: Microscope
I love my OMAX. It's an amazing scope for a great price. I have used this more times than I can count - great lighting and clarity. I've used this mostly for soil biology and I can clearly see and identify different types of nematodes, protozoa, amoebas, and fungus, even differentiate different types of bacteria, although its difficult without using the oil emersion. You can clearly distinguish between red and white blood cells with great clarity. I'm giving it 4 stars because I've found the camera to be useless. I don't recommend paying any extra for these scope cameras or viewing/editing software. Pro tip: go buy a phone attachment to hook up to the eye-piece. It can be finicky at first but I get much higher resolution images and I can post my cool finding to social media in a sinch. I also taught a soil biology class and was able to live-demo some samples for the entire class to see much more easily than using the scope camera and software. ... show more

  • A VERY GOOD MICROSCOPE. SHOWS BUGS AND LITTLE STUFF CLEARLY!

  • Camera is a little less that perfect but other than that it is great
Style: Microscope
Camera is a little less that perfect but other than that it is great. Eye pieces take some getting used to but they work, at 10X. 25X is nearly useless so you have to say this is really a 1000X microscope rather than a 2500X. It has great settings that are necessary for high resolution. Any optical microscope is really only limited to 1500X due to the wavelength of light so it works as well as expected. ... show more

  • The microscope works very well but within twelve months the led light stopped working
Style: Microscope
The led light is not changeable so once it goes out the only option you have is to send it back to the manufacturer. I used this microscope, probably 12 to 15 times. If you cannot replace parts that wear out quickly then I would recommend try to find one that you can easily replace parts, especially if they wear out quickly. I see other people have had the same issue I have had after reading through some of the reviews. ... show more

  • Camera usb 2.0 and software not very good
Style: Microscope
Im updating my review from 1 to 3. The Microscope is great and fun to use. The camera is the one weakness I feel like the USB 2.0 is holding it back a lot. The frame rates are low (its advertised as such) but to use the software in most cases I have to lower the video resolution to the medium setting or it will start giving errors about failing captures. Even at the medium setting it will sometimes error out and once it does that the only way to prevent it from continuous errors is to exit the software, unplug the camera, re-enter the software, plug the camera back in, then it seems to work ok for awhile again until it errors out again... rinse and repeat. I think it just struggles to keep up with its own data stream so it gives an error, the USB 3.0 models are probably way better. ... show more

  • NO Chromebook compatibility!!
Style: Microscope
The microscope is nice but the camera is NOT compatible with Chromebooks! Being a Chromebook oriented school, this makes the microscope camera practically useless. If I would have known this, I probably would not have purchased it! After using it, however, it is a very nice microscope! Hope Chromebook compatibility will come in the near future! ... show more

  • DO. NOT. BUY
Style: Microscope
DO. NOT. BUY Bought this end of December. Great microscope. Until it isn't. Turns out the light box, which is crucial to microscope use, died. Rendering it unusable. Then, turns out LED light is not replaceable. I hate that I even have to give this 1 star. It should be negative 100. I need this to do fecals on my goat herd. Truly horrific design. And a waste of a lot of money. Thanks for nothing. ... show more
