This is one purchase I was very skeptical of going with for the fact its sold by Meta. I assure you though this cable is these best link cable option. I have had multiple friends have issues with their third party cables not working properly and keep telling them to get this one. The price is a lot more yes but this cable offers really high bandwidth and the ability to charge while playing! This is at least with the Meta Quest 2. As for the new Meta Quest 3 it cannot out charge its consumption which I believe is a problem with that headset itself. The cable has a 90 degree to plug into your headset which makes it nice to run it back behind you when playing. It is a Type C to Type C cable but most pcs have a dedicated type on the back. I bought a cheaper version of the oculus official cable, and it constantly disconnected me from the PC. I don't mean that it became unplugged - I think the signal attenuation in the cable was bad. At this high a data rate, the physical properties of the cable really matter. The cheap cable just dropped the oculus connection every 2 minutes or so (which doesn't restore automatically). That just wont do in a survival-shooter scenario. I have been using the official cable for about 3 months now, and it hasn't disconnected me once. I'll note that I have been very careful not to step on it and pull while playing, and I have also tried not to bend it when I store it after playing. Store it loosely while playing (severe bends of cables are NOT okay) ... show more

Pretty expensive cable, but ive had issues with a few knockoff link cables. I only use my Quest 2 for VR Sim Racing, and it works like a charm with rarely any issues. Giving it 4 stars cause even though is says it charges while playing, i can only get a few hours out of sim racing before the headset dies. ... show more

Honestly. This product works great. The fault lies in the design. I’ve maybe used this thing for about 20-30 hours of gameplay, and I’ve had no issue. Well I just got done playing today and removed the usbc3 connector from my computer. I noticed the connector was a little loose so I kinda wiggled it a little bit to see if it was just like that or if it was broken and it fell right off. I really don’t understand, I’ve been VERY careful about this cable because it’s so damn expensive. It’s ridiculous. I’ve reached out to Oculus support because I’ve had it for a little over a month now, hoping I’m not just SOL and out $70. Will never purchase again, terrible design for the computer/laptop connector side. The headset connector is great and sturdy. (Added both sides in photos) Like I said, I was insanely careful with this product. I would make sure I was facing one direction the entire time so I wouldn’t pull or step on the cable. The design really needs to be rethought. Honestly just having the computer connector mimic the headset connector would be a huge upgrade to durability. Hopefully they re-think this design because it’s not worth the risk. Edit 6/23/2021 I am sending the cable back through Oculus Report to exchange for a refurbished replacement through the warranty. Will update when I receive it. I also ordered a way cheaper alternative through Amazon. Will update how that goes as well. Edit: 7/1/2021 I sent the cable back and UPS said they received it 6/25/2021. Haven’t heard anything yet. The cable I bought as a temporary replacement is way better than I thought. Quality wise it’s literally the same as the oculus cable, the only thing is it won’t charge your headset. But if you aren’t playing for more than 3 hours 30 minutes at a time you’ll be fine. This is the one I got: KRX Link Cable Compatible for Oculus Quest 2, Fast Charing & PC Data Transfer USB C 3.2 Gen1 Cable for VR Headset and Gaming PC. You’ll have to copy and paste the link. There’s no drop in quality of picture or performance, only downside is the charging. I recommend that cable as an alternative to this one. Another bonus is that it is USB to USBC3 instead of double USBC3. Edit: 7/13/2021 STILL waiting on a replacement cable. They’ve confirmed they received my return but it’s been since 6/25/21, so not sure why it’s taking so long to send out a replacement. Terribly long time for support. Really glad I bought the other cable for cheap. Honestly it does everything but the charging, just get that one. Edit: 7/15/2021 I’ve been contacted by a representative after I asked what was taking so long. I was told that the “Warehouse team is trying to locate your returned item so we can get the replacement to you.” So I guess we’ll see where it goes from here. Edit: 7/23/2021 -FINAL I was told by the Oculus rep that “the warehouse could not locate your return”. But they sent me a brand new cable anyways so that was good I guess. Disappointing that it took a month to get a replacement on such an expensive cable. Just go third party way cheaper and more reliable. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have to say that the packaging was amazing for this product, it is protected on the outside in a plastic sealed bag, with a heavy duty cardboard box that is stored into another exterior sleeve. Might be a little older as the branding on it says Facebook and not Meta but I am sure that does not way heavily on the product. Inside the box both ends of the cord are protected by usb-c sleeves and the cord is wound up inside of another securing sleeve which was surprising difficult to tear open. Impressed by the packaging and looks to be a high quality cord, which you would expect at this price point.
