Nuby Twist N Ride Classic Car with Realistic Working Front and Back Lights, Fun Light-Up Wheels, and Music, 3 Years and Up, Red and Gray This was a gift for my grandson's 4th B-Day. My husband and I put it together ahead of time. It was fairly simple but you do need some kind of special wrench to attach the wheels, and a screwdriver. It was quick and easy to assemble, and even came with batteries. This car is super cute. It has a vintage look, and the wheels, headlights, and taillights all light up. When the child pushes the button it plays "Wheels on the Bus". Turning the steering wheel back and forth propels it forward. I had to take it for a quick spin around the living room myself, even though I'm way over the weight limit (140 lbs). It was so fun! They need to make these for bigger "kids"! My grandson was really excited when he saw the car, and he got on right away. I immediately worried that he was way too big for it, his legs looked too long for it. But once we coached him a bit, he put his legs up and figured out how to propel it within a matter of minutes, and he absolutely loved it! He was zipping around all over the house, and was constantly pushing the button to make the song play. It is loud, as other reviewers have mentioned, and there is no volume control. But the song only plays if the child pushes the button, so obviously he was really enjoying the song! The lights will only light up while the song is playing, so keep that in mind if you do decide to remove the batteries. (The lights on the wheels will still work though). His 18-month-old cousin was pretty impressed with the car too. Although she was too little to get the concept, she still really liked it. I think this car would please a wide age range of kids. I got this for my daughter and she absolutely is in love with this car. She rides it in our house and zooms down the hallway at what seems like a million miles per hour. We've got hardwood floors so she's like a speed demon on this thing. The car can make some pretty sharp turns and can go pretty fast, flintstone style. This car is similar to a wiggle car. Just wiggle the car and it'll move forward. Assembly is pretty easy. All you need are a couple of adjustable wrenches (to tighten the nuts) and a screwdriver. Takes about 10 minutes. Issues: 1) My biggest complaint is the music coming front car. You press the button and the music starts playing but it won't stop until you press it again. I'm glad you can turn it off right away with a press of a button but it also means it could play forever. 2) The car can seem unstable in the beginning. When my daughter first started, she tipped the car over easily but I noticed now she never does that. I feel like there's a slight learning curve to prevent the car from tipping over. This isn't really an issue indoors but if you're going fast outdoors, you could seriously hurt yourself, especially if you're going downhill. Do not let your kids go downhill on this thing. They're seriously going to get hurt. Overall I think this is a great car and your kid is going to really enjoy it. I highly recommend it! ... show more

Our first review of this was based primarily on our (parents) assessment, as well as a one-year-old’s early exposure to it. We initially found it to be awkward and confusing and didn’t understand it. But after our daughter turned 18 months and tried it again, she quickly figured it out and has been inseparable ever since. Our second daughter came along and started enjoying it around that age as well. Now the two compete for it and ride it for hours a day. We’ve found nothing else like it in terms of construction, performance, and how much our daughters love it. We were late in updating this review, but thought it had to happen. Original review: This Nuby Twist N Ride car is a fun concept for young children. It comes in a vintage style car with fun lights and interactive steering wheel complete with a horn. Sadly, the 360-degree steering is unstable, making it very hard for young children to ride it without wobbling to the point that it leads to a calamitous fall. The “twist” part of the car is the steering wheel which allows it to gain momentum and turn without much pushing. However, it also forces the car to lose balance and so makes it hard for children to maneuver. It takes batteries to light up, but they aren’t necessary to use the car. This car has a lot of things going for it, and would make a nice gift, but it should probably be for older children (not young ones). ... show more

It's easy to put this little car together, as long as you have a 1/2 " or # 13 wrench and a screwdriver. It can't be done without those tools. Once you've assembled the car, you have a sure win with your toddler or preschooler. The wheels light up, the horn squeaks, the lights flash, and there's even a button you can push for music -- including "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round," which is my small granddaughters favorite song. You can remove the batteries (included) if the noise gets to you, and the car will still be fun. Our little dog stole the squeaker a few times as we were putting together the car, and the squeaker survived, so I would say this is sturdy. The axles are metal and the wheels are rubber, so you should get a long lifespan for this little car. ... show more

The bottom line is that kids love this! My grandkids will roll around on this in our concrete alleyway horse barn for hours during the day! The tune is kinda a polka Wheels on the Bus and I swear every time I hear it I cant help but dance to it! It's wonderful! I did get the front wheels on wrong but sorted that out of course. It's a really well-made car, like nothing we've ever had before in all the plastic Little Tykes, FP Big Wheels garbage. This is a very high-quality car! Very durable sturdy roller skate-type wheels and hardware. All under $75?! That's amazing! ... show more
