  • Helps a lot with my mitral valve proplapse symptoms
I was diagnosed with MVP over 40 yrs.ago.I was told by a doctor of chinese medicine that I should try increasing my potassium, which I have done using this product.Although I'm a bit of a supplement junkie, and do take others such as ubiquinol, magnesium, etc for my heart,,I can tell the potassium citrate works because I stopped taking it for a few days, and my symptoms returned, and then diminished once I started taking it again.I take 1/8th teaspoon 3 times a day. Also night cramps in legs have stopped.I am a firm believer that many health issues can be addressed by proper diet and supplementation.Thank you for a great product !!! ... show more

  • Great value.
When I switched to the Keto diet I started having horrible leg cramps in the middle of the night. It took me a few days to realize what the hell was going on. I simply wasn’t getting enough nutrients in my body. Duuuuh. I have never been on a diet that cut out fruit before, so I never had such bad cramps. I was severely lacking potassium and electrolytes. After doing research and finding out that 3,000 mg per day is the proper requirement and most of these pill form potassium vitamins are less than 3%, powder was definitely the way to go. And to my surprise, this helped within two hours of taking two servings(1/2 tea spoon). ... show more

  • Great way to add potassium to my diet
I don't get enough potassium in my diet, and the limit of 99 mg of potassium in capsule form isn't a realistic way to get enough daily. I add this powder to my smoothie every morning. It dissolves well and is tasteless. You get almost 1800 mg of potassium in one teaspoon.

  • Econonical Potassium Citrate
This powder is an economical way to get the recommended daily 4700mg. It's a good substitute for eating 7 cups of salad. 1 full teaspoon - level - gives you 1792 mg. Imagine a heaping teaspoon. I found that drinking it in plain water tasted awfully bitter. It's best to add a mixed powdered drink flavor. Your flavored drink will taste softer but a lot better than plain. When I do take high amounts of potassium, I've found that I no longer have skipped heartbeats. I tend to sleep a little better. I don't have as much sinus trouble as before. There are many You Tube videos that cover potassium benefits and what happens if you're deficient. They are very helpful. So I would recommend this NOW breand of Potassium citrate. Just keep in mind that potasium citrate powder can clump together in a bottle over the course of time, so if you don't use it much, you'll be scraping it out with a spoon. Overall a good product. ... show more

  • According to the National Institute of Health....
According to the National Institute of Health, the Food and Nutrition Board "did not set an UL (upper limit) for potassium as there is no evidence that high dosages have adverse effects." People, in their comments about various potassium supplements always warn that a too high dose can cause death. I myself in all my research on potassium have never come across a single case of death. However, common sense dictates that you use prudence in taking it or any supplement. Even too much water can cause death. I personally try to take about 5,000 milligrams a day, getting about 3,000 of that from supplements and the rest from food. ... show more

  • Works to calm my restless legs syndrome
I put this in my water, and drink throughout the day. After about 2 or 3 days, restless leg is completely calmed. If I forget to add it for a few days, restless leg comes back. Definite proof for me that this is great stuff!

  • Good Bye Leg Cramps
Not everyone with sudden muscle cramps will respond to Potassium Citrate, but my body certainly likes it. Some people might need to take Potassium in other forms. Talk to a nutritionist or chiropractor. But for me, I was prone to horrific middle of the night foot, toe, or thigh cramps. My husband had them almost nightly but I was starting to have them about 2 nights a week. There was no telling when one would come on, and if you've ever experienced them, you know how awful they are. Hubs found out about this stuff from his nutritionist and told me how economical it is, compared to the low dose sachets of electrolytes or the Potassium pills we would buy at the drug store. He started putting a mere 1/4 of a teaspoon of this powder into my nightly calcium/magnesium drink, and it didn't affect the taste much (it's something you chug quickly, anyway). But I have had NO CRAMPS ever since getting on the nightly dose. ... show more

  • Easy way to get more potassium in your diet
The best way to get potassium is to eat a banana, but they go bad and I can't really keep bananas at the office or while I'm traveling. Another way to get potassium is salt substitutes, which are usually made with potassium chloride, but this is salty and slightly bitter. This stuff is potassium citrate, which has a much less detectable flavor than KCl, slightly salty but also a bit sweet and not bitter. I've mixed a 1/4 tsp into a glass of Crystal Light or homemade "Greaterade" and couldn't tell the difference. As with all supplements, use in moderation and consult your doctor first if you have any medical conditions or take medications. There are a number of potential drug interactions including insulin, antibiotics, and heart drugs among others. It can also irritate your stomach if the concentration is too high. ... show more
