  • These are different from the originals. Directions on how to insert the new blade units.
I chose these replacement blades as they are supposed to be the correct replacement blades for the Norelco Shaver and cost substantially less than other choices. However, upon close inspection, the circular blade portion is NOT the same as the original. The original individual unit has 2 sets of circular blades, the outside and another smaller circular set on the inside. The replacement does not have the inside circular set of blades. Though they haven't been used as yet, I suspect they will not cut as well. The new cover does not look like the old cover. See pictures. HINT: As you remove pieces, set them aside exactly as you took them out. As for performing the actual replacement process: 1) turn the orange locking plastic circular unit on one of the circular blades to the left (counterclockwise); this unlocks the old blade unit below. When you remove the orange unit, look at the outside ring of the orange unit. There are 2 indents. These will match up with the 2 projections on the blue ring permanently attached to the 3-piece blade unit when you want to lock in the new blade. 2) Push out the old cover and blade unit held inside the 3-piece head unit. The replacement unit will fit into the blue ring, since the new cover/blade unit also has 2 indented spots that match up to the 2 projections on the blue ring. 3) When inserting the new blade (cover and actual blade itself), note that the blade portion faces down and touches the inside bottom of the cover. Now match the 2 indents of the new blade cover (with blade inside) with the projections on the blue ring (which does move up and down, so hold it to do this). When inserted correctly, you will see the center of the actual blade has a white piece in the center that is y-shaped. 4) Now you put the orange locking piece over the top of the newly inserted circular blade unit. Make sure the bottom of the orange locking piece has the two 'holding' projections on the top. Hold onto the orange unit by the projections and match the outer ring indents with the blue ring projections. Once in place, while holding the orange unit with the orange projections, turn the orange unit to the right (clockwise). This locks in the blade unit. Hope this helps. BTW, you can use your old outer cover rather than the new cover, as it does look nicer. ... show more

  • Pulls hair on first use and never stops
I figured I’d spend the extra money this time around to get the Philips-branded replacement heads since I don’t shave often and have only needed to replace them annually. These are by far the worst ones I’ve used and they constantly pull my hair for the month I’ve used them. I’ve never had such a problem in the 5 years I’ve owned the razor. Needless to say, I’ll go back to purchasing the cheaper knock-offs that won’t torture me. ... show more

  • Make and explanation of technical changes to the product available to customers!
I bought a NORELCO SH70/52 7000 Shaver Replacement Head through SUPPLIES USA, but fulfilled by AMAZON.COM. While replacing the old-original blades, I carefully inspected the new ones, and they appear very different than the originals. There is a disc structure to the rotary blades. On each of the three original blade units, there are 15 tiny blades that appear to be mounted (possibly welded) to the 15 points of the disc structure. I assume that these mounted blades are made of some special, tempered steel for shaving. However, on the replacement units, there are no mounted blades, only the disc structure. Therefore, the whole disc unit is made of the same metal. (see photo with original blade on left, and your replacement on the right. You can clearly see that the unit on the left has mounted blades, while the unit on the right does not. I have read some critical reviews on AMAZON stating that the replacement blades were not as sharp or long lasting as the originals, however, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to explain the change. Is this a newer design made with the whole disc metal unit made of shaver grade steel? Or, is this different design an inferior quality replacement? I tried contacting Philips directly, but the person I texted with directed me to contact the vendor. I am frustrated because of the time it is taking to follow through with contacting the vendor or Amazon about this matter. I tried to find a way to message the vendor besides simply sending back the unit for a refund, because I had the product sent to a friend in the USA who then carried it to me overseas. I considered sending it back, but being overseas, I might miss the deadline for returns, as well as incurring shipping costs. Plus, when I clicked "return", the only shipping option was through the USA address of my friend. Finally, Tthe messaging system described by AMAZON does not work, at least I could not find a "reply" button as described here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_left_v4_sib?ie=UTF8&nodeId=201889690 ... show more

  • Keep your razor sharp
I never really took replacing the heads seriously with older electric razors, which were inexpensive. I got a top-of-the-line electric as a present and have tried to care for it properly. While I don't think they need to be replaced as often as recommended by the manufacturer, it makes a huge difference in the quality of the shave if you replace them once or twice a year. ... show more

  • Not what was supposed to be in the package
This was supposed to be a factory direct replacement for my shaver blades, three discs that get inserted into the original carrier. Instead it's a whole new head that doesn't match the original, it works, but it's not what I was expecting. Nor what I've gotten ordering this part before. From the photo you can see that what came in the box on the right, doesn't match the original on the left. In the second image you can see that the box is supposed to contain 3 replacement razor cartridges, which is what I've gotten before, not a whole top replacement that doesn't match the original. Probably swapped out for a lower model's full top or a knock off replacement. ... show more
