  • Good treadmill but there are caveats
Style: Commercial 1750 Treadmill (2019 Model)
So the treadmill is pretty great overall. I'd researched treadmills for ages and almost went with a incline trainer I'm more of hiker/walker than a runner plus those go up to 40% incline which would be perfect for the iFit guided hikes. So I ordered this treadmill on March 17 and it showed up that Wednesday. The delivery crew showed up on time but they had it loaded first in the truck so they had to play tetris to get it out. Then they couldn't get it on the lift gate. It was at this time I noticed that on the box it says machine lift only. These guys had a tiny dolly. They ended up lowering the lift to get it on to the small dolly and that is when then dropped the treadmill box right in the middle of the road. I thought it crush one of the two guys but he made it out of the way. Finally they get it up to the garage and leave it there but not before knocking over all our bikes like that scene in One Crazy Summer. Anyway they really only had to leave it on the curb so I'm glad they got it into the garage. So we popped the box open after they left and all seemed to look good. This is HEAVY and a pain to move as was indicated by the machine lift only sticker. When you get it out of the box I suggest installing the piston first so you can roll it to where you want in the house without needing a high school lifting team to assist. That way the deck is locked up and you can just wheel it around. Also take into account where you want it first because this thing will not fit through a standard door without some creative sideways sliding action. Hint: Save some of the box to use as a sled when you get to this step. Once you have it where you want it goes together pretty easily unless your young kids are crawling all over you while asking a million questions. iFit is pretty cool but still has a long way to go like perhaps including a search feature. Tech support said they are working on it. But this makes long sessions fly by. It is really amazing! Not Peloton amazing but really great none the less. Doing the workouts that have you off the treadmill can be a huge pain because the screen is only 10" and doesn't move much. Look to the Nordictrack 2950 if you want to do that stuff easily. When you set up your iFit account do it via the iFit web page and not on the treadmill. Also make sure you put the - in between the numbers on your included card otherwise it will say the number is invalid or has been redeemed. If you have a heart rate monitor already that is BLE (4.0) compatible it self sync's just by being near the treadmill and you don't have to use the app like the instructions tell you. You can't pair your iFit app with this treadmill. Apparently that is for products that do not include a touch screen. There was some confusion on that as well. The manual also advises that there is an interactive product tour on the touch screen and there is not. Finally, here is my biggest grip. The description on Amazon sucks so if you go to the Nordictrack page or any reviewer of the 2019 version of the 1750 you will see that this treadmill is supposed to include the tablet holder and a chest strap heart rate monitor. Nordictrack advised me today that the version that is indistinguishable via model number and is sold by Amazon does not include either of these items. I was PISSED to say the least as this is really shady. The tablet holder is an extra $96.00 and the HR Monitor was another $125.00. Reading the reviews and comments here it looks like some people received the tablet holder while others did not and I'm not sure about the HR monitor so your mileage may vary. ... show more

  • 2.5 Month Review of the Commercial 2950
Style: Commercial 2950 Treadmill (2019 Model)
This is my 2.5 month review. I suffered from a fallen arch & severe tendonitis in my left foot for 20+ yrs, seriously inhibiting my mobility. After a tear last year, I underwent tendon repair & extensive foot posture correction surgery. As of this writing, I am still in recovery. I bought this treadmill to assist with recovery & weight loss & I hope to make this a lifestyle change. I feel this information is important to understand my review. Amazon purchase - 5 / 5 stars. The delivery & assembly experience was top notch & flawless. The professional assembly folks were done in about 45 minutes & machine was placed exactly where I needed it. Construction - 5 / 5 stars. No question this is a very solidly built machine, & that's why I bought it. Nothing flimsy. I love the water bottle holders & front tray. I *really* love it's a little wider than other brands/models. Con: the fans are fixed & do not hit me very well. Also, one fan (of two) ceased working entirely after about one month. NordicTrack sent me the replacement part but I have not installed it as of this writing because it looks quite detailed & complex. iFit Software - 3 / 5 stars. I was worried about forced [expensive] proprietary software, but I find I REALLY enjoy walking in locations around the world. It makes exercise less daunting & even fun. As others have complained, it's disappointing you can't install things like Netflix, YouTube, etc [easily?]. My biggest complaint: I can only limit the machine to *maximum* 4mph. During my recovery, there is NO WAY I can handle that fast. I have to watch VERY closely & override quickly when the workout speeds up faster than my ability. Sometimes I'm overriding constantly; the machine tells me it's modifying the workout, but seconds later it speeds back up again. Some workouts seem better than others in terms of the machine constantly overriding speed. It's annoying & dangerous. I've almost fallen 3-4 times because of this & have to pay constant attention. I don't know who decided 4mph is a good maximum, since I know many others are in recovery mode, too. I would love & BEG NordicTrack to allow a much smaller maximum. It's software so this should be easy. iFit also needs to add more walking & active recovery workouts in their lineup. iFit Heart Rate Monitor (chest strap) - 0 / 5 stars & it deserves far less. As most other reviewers said, what garbage! It worked only once & it was WILDLY inaccurate. So wild I'd be dead if the readings were true. I even tried changing the battery several times. Do yourself a favor, pitch the iFit HRM strap in the trash & get a quality HRM. I'm using a 6-8 yr old Polar chest strap, which pairs perfect *every* time & generally reads nearly the same as my Garmin fitness tracker. ActivePulse HR - 4 / 5 stars. My Polar HRM pairs perfect but as other reviewers have mentioned, it takes 2.5 to 3 mins before ActivePulse takes effect in your workout. Another con - if iFit thinks my heart rate is too low, it speeds up the machine. Oftentimes, it's too fast for my current mobility & I have to quickly override to a lower speed. I wish it would add incline rather than speed & I wish I had the ability to tell it to do that. Other Comments - I love to see the time & distance *left to completion* but I have to tell it that every single time I start a new workout. I wish the machine were smart enough to remember. On the plus side - the 22 inch screen is simply amazing. Another idea - I wish it had a clock. Final Comments - 4 / 5 stars. I *love* this machine. I realize this machine is primarily designed & marketed to runners. Even with my recent corrective surgery, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to be a runner. I bought this machine specifically because the VERY solid quality, wider size, & large screen. I just wish it were more forgiving for those of us who are walkers (and might always be due to physical limitations). ... show more
