Updated review....originally I gave this 2 stars and a 'not-so-good' write up. My picture doesn't do it justice - the backlighting is so good that it appears "fuzzy" in the picture - it's not, it's crystal clear and very well-lit and very nice-looking. If you don't need a "smart" thermostat, then this is the one to get. Smart thermostat are good if no one is in the house during the day, but my wife is home. So we needed a simple, good-looking, back-lit thermostat and this is it! The mounting plate wire screws are ridiculously tiny, but so are many thermostats these days. It took a few days before the thermostat became more consistent. The 1st day or so it seemed like it did not want to hold temperature well and would not consistently run with a 3-degree split. However it's been working fine now for a solid week and it seems pretty accurate. The seller had offered to give me a full refund, not in exchange for a better review, just because they thought it was the right thing to do. That says a lot about the seller! For me, the right thing to do was to update the review with the additional findings after using these a little longer...it's actually a pretty good thermostat, and I would recommend and (yes) I am keeping these (I installed 2). ... show more

Take picture of old t-stat b-4 u remove wire,so no mistakes hooking back up.Easy to use.No program to run or auto defalt run at wrong temp,which is aggravating .was gonna get old and time tested honeywell round dial type but that just seemed old and dated for the look I wanted.Nice unit,great price,easy set up..... ... show more

My girlfriend's thermostat in her house failed, we bought one on Amazon but it needed privacy invasion Wi-Fi connection...sent it back. Got this and it works really well and it's simple, display is easy to read, well lit, big digits. Installation was easy, instructions were very clear. Another review I read made some mention about tricky installation, modes of operation... but I didn't see anything like that, it was super easy. Good product, easy to install, works fine, display is large enough for senior eyes, but control buttons are not well designed, slider switch positions for heat/off/cool are too close to each other, its easy to set it by mistake to heat instead of off or to cool instead of off. Hope next iteration of product will space switch positions a little further apart. ... show more

Old programmable thermostat broke. Never used the programmable functions. Bought this for quick replacement, found the large display a big plus. Installed in 10 minutes only because I had to find the small screwdriver. Came with stickers for wires in case electrician didn’t use the proper colored wires during installation. My wires were properly colored so it was a cinch. Liked it so much bought another to replace other functional programmable unit. Green one is bright. ... show more

Replaced analog thermostat with this one, furnace works beautifully. The RGBX color codes on the thermostat do not match the wire colors!! My wiring was screwed up in the original installation, but I figured it out in about 30 minutes. If your thermostat is connected correctly, it should take about five minutes to replace. ... show more
