    • Bought for an elder with weak vision
I bought this as a replacement for a Nest thermostat that was installed by a HVAC company at my grandmother's house. While the Nest was clear to see, it was challenging for her to navigate and switch the operations. This solved it, with physical buttons for up and down and sliders for the different modes. The large number is the current temperature and the smaller is the set point. The blue backlight comes on when you press a button and turns off after 5 seconds. It saves the different set points between modes which is helpful when changing seasons. It was incredibly simple to install myself. The only thing I had to change was the display cycle, which can show temperature and humidity. To make it easy for her, I set it to temperature only (this is found in the manual that comes with it). ... show more

    • Easy to operate
The large numbers are easy to see, simple to operate. The screws used to secure the thermostat to the wall are too small and larger screws cannot be used because the thermostat will not snap back in place. I installed plywood behind the sheetrock to secure the thermostat.

    • Great thermostat BUY IT
I purchased this thermostat to resolve a heater continually running in the heat cycle, up to 10° past the set point. This thermostat didn't resolve the problem immediately, until a SWITCH on the inside of the thermostat was switched from a gas heat mode to an electric heat mode. I have hot water heat but the switch didn't have the hot water heat as an option, but I switched it from gas to electric anyway, and wala, that resolved the problem that has eaten my lunch for over 3 years. So if you buy this thermostat make sure the SWITCH mode you set applies to the type of heat you have. Set the switch to electric if you have electric or water heat, and set it to gas, only if you have a gas furnace. There are many other good things I could say about this thermostat that are vi displayed on the display window, but I leave it to you to discover all the good things about this thermostat. You will be happy you installed this thermostat. BTW, the instructions to install are great and easy to understand, better than any other thermostat I used before.     • Has some pluses But one big Negative and had to replace it.
For the pros, nice display and easy to operate and you can calibrate the temp. and swing settings. The one big Con, I adjusted the swing setting to the minimum which is 2 tenths below and 2 tenths above the temperature chosen. But it wont shut the ac off until its almost 1 degree lower than set and wont turn on until almost 1 degree above setting.---This makes for long run times and long time before it comes back on which causes too much temperature fluctuation. It does the same for both heat and AC I have replaced this unit with a Honeywell non programmable digital thermostat and it is way more accurate and shuts off and turns on when it should. I originally rated this a 2 but after having the Honeywell that is way more accurate and functions better I’m giving this one a 1. Having a big bright display and humidity gage does not make up for its inaccuracies. Too bad Amazon doesn’t show the more negative reviews up front. ... show more

    • So far I have loved it
The thermostat was very easy to hook up and replace the old one. It was more simple to hook up the new one and put it together than it was to take the old one apart and take off the wall. Normally it would not be that way usually taking the old product off is the easy part and put the new one on would be the hard part but not in this case. I do like how it looks. Blue background light works wonderful the buttons function great and so far everything has worked phenomenal for the price I had received for this product. I am extremely pleased. Would write five stars to anyone and would recommend anyone get this if this is what they’re looking for. ... show more
