Please don't laugh. This is my backyard tanning, cooling off pool and spa. My dogs don't go near it, although I could probably drag them into it should I choose to. I bought it for myself to get some sun without roasting in the Tennessee heat. The float came from Target for about $6. I have it set up on my gravel patio with used Amazon boxes underneath to cushion the bottom. If you have lots of moneybucks, (thank you Bluey), you could buy a nice pad like is used for standing all day. But for me, I just wanted something to keep the rocks from doing damage to the bottom. It is super easy to set up, (no inflation required), the bottom is thick and durable and it is easy drain and fold up. I can literally use it in the morning and fold it up and take it to the grandkids house the same day. I also bought a Fisher Price slide for the kids to slide into it. I wouldn't dream of doing this with the inflatable pools. The drain hole is located close to the bottom of the side of the pool so it is fast to drain and whatever water is left is easy to dump by just lifting it and pouring out the water. I tried several inflatable pools and they were flimsy, and a pain to inflate and kept leaking. The float in the water is 5'7" just for reference. I can completely lay out, front and back on this set up and just did down when required. It is also easy to make it super shallow for toddlers without compromising enjoyment. The only downside is the water heats up when left full, (um...all water heats up in the sun). I usually empty it every few days so I am not breeding mosquitos, (your welcome neighbors), but it fills pretty fast and you don't have to fill it completely to enjoy a nice cool dip. The upside of the heated water is that when I get home after standing all day, it is a nice warm spa to ease my sore legs and feet. Perfect! ... show more

After an inflatable one was punctured by wild animals at night, we decided to get this one for the kiddo. It lasted most of the summer and the tight cover (sold separately) was great from keeping things out of it…plus, the generic color was appealing to us in a household overtaken by kid stuff…until last week when raccoons finally figured out how to get in puncturing the sides and emptying the pool. We originally patched the holes with shoe glue but they came back and completely destroyed the pool a few days later. I wish I had seen this or had a video, I’m sure it was hilarious. We are getting another one because they are big, pretty sturdy, and easy to fold into a pretty small package for storing but will make sure to empty it every day and put it away because they are definetly not raccoon proof. I’m not really sure how a dog also wouldn’t puncture this pool but I did not see what the raccoons did or how big their claws were, just their muddy footprints. ... show more

    • Sturdy dog pool, worth the extra money

Bought this pool for my dog to play in during hot days. I was worried after reading reviews and looking at the pool that her nails would go right through it. So far, after multiple times playing in it, both on our deck on the grass as well, the pool has held up. This pool is moderately large, but not too deep. My kids like to get in the pool and splash around with our dog and use the hose sprayer as part of the fun. The bottom line is that I was expecting a couple of uses before it was shredded and unusable. At least for our 45 lb dog, it has lasted longer than expected and has been a sturdier pool than I had expected. Bigger dogs and those without clipped nails may not last so long. ... show more

This seems like a very high-quality product. The vinyl has something like nylon rip-stop embedded, and the side panels are tough. My kids have used this pool a ton this summer, and they run and jump into it often. They lean on the sides, too. None of that has damaged the product, but we’ve exclusively used it on the driveway so we don’t kill a circle of grass. I noticed some water around the base of the pool while it’s being filled, before the kids have had a chance to splash. I later found multiple tiny holes in the bottom of the pool that were surely caused by the concrete. Probably specifically from adjusting it when there’s a little water inside. Even still, the pool holds water all day. I wanted to pass it along as advice to care for the pool, but I’m still really happy with this product, especially for the price. ... show more

The price point is great for comparison with more cheaply made pools that are locally available and for us, worth every penny in the humidity and 100+ heat. This pool was purchased for and has survived at our house with a rambunctious and hot natured 45 pound Malinois puppy who is an aggressive chewer and likes to shred things. We have not left her unattended and so far she is constantly in and out to fetch toys, cool down, and splash around. The sides are durable and do not cave when she jumps in and out, they have just enough give in the folds so they lean but do not crush. I would not suggest leaving an active and aggressive chewer or scratcher alone as with anything you wish to remain in one piece. For reference this pup has destroyed kong toys and a kong bed, but this pool kept her occupied and has remained intact. ... show more

We bought a blow up pool for $50 that we used once and got a SEVERAL holes in. So we took a chance on buying another pool to try to have outdoor fun with our toddler in the crazy Texas heat. It is amazing! Super durable and folds up soooo easily and so small for storage. I think my husband and I are going to get some pool noodles and slice them so we can put them around the edge of the pool to rest our heads on since the edge can be too firm for resting against. ... show more

Bought this for our lab pup and he only got to enjoy it a few times before the raccoons tore it up. Would be great purchase for anyone who doesn't have wild creature issues.
