  • A little game that provides years of enjoyment.
I love this game so much that I purchased a second cartridge so I could have two towns! I love that this has the Welcome Amiibo update already installed. With “New Horizons” announced to be released in May of 2020, my excitement for this game was rekindled. I’d recommend this game to pretty much anyone— it’s great for kids who are learning how to read, it’s great for older people who want to try video games either for themselves or to connect with their kids/grandkids, etc. I’m an adult with no children, but I love playing because it’s such a gentle game (the most frustrating thing in the entire game is trying to catch those fast deep-sea creatures or dragonflies), and you’ll have fun with it, no matter how much or little strategy you use to plan your town. Most of the neighbors in my first town have been with me since 2014 when I bought my first copy of Animal Crossing, and I’m quite attached to them. If you’re thinking about trying Animal Crossing, I highly recommend that you do! ... show more

  • Love it!!
Much better than animal crossing wild world! Love that you can choose the layout of your town and the exact location of your house. In the original animal crossing you couldn't do that. Upgrading your house seems to be more expensive but oh well. In this one you can choose the look of your roofing, outer walls, fencing, front door, your mailbox and the type of pavement to surround your house. Sooner of the characters have slightly different roles like lyle doesn't sell insurance anymore he's the head of the happy room academy. There's a different store for nook he sells housing stuff while there's another store called nookling junction which is like nooks cranny from the original. You can also go on an island vacation with the old mayor and fish, catch bugs, dig up matching treasure. There's more things but it's much better than the original. Love animal crossing and I just bought amiibo for it so hopefully that goes well ... show more

  • Excellent game...
My 11-year-old daughter is a huge Animal Crossings fan. I was intrigued and she was the one to convince me to get this game and I'm glad I did. It was a 2022 Christmas gift and I am hooked. It's deals with a lot of reading but it's very relaxing and fun to play. I recommend for all ages.

  • Such a cute, fun game
I got this game for my birthday on launch day when it was released a few years ago. And I had fun completing the museum, fixing up a house, getting a perfect town and doing all the holiday events. My favorite part of the game is pushing villagers into pitfalls and taking pictures. I bought each of my children their own copy, because only the first one to town gets to be Mayor. And there won't be any fishing/bug catching together without an separate copy. It's very relaxing and my youngest at 7, had no problem reading or playing this game. I bought this copy for my daughter to give to her friend for her friend's birthday, since the friend had saved up enough for her on 2DS. The game was a hit with both the friend and her mom, and all the kids played together for hours. It is a great game for the family to play together and you don't need internet to play in each other's town. ... show more

  • A price for YEARS worth of playtime, so how many games on 3DS can have that as a "Tag"
Where to start, dear readers if you ever played and enjoyed any sort of Animal Crossing, chances are you're pretty much will enjoy this type of game already. While this version of Animal Crossing on the 3DS offers a few more things to do than the other version and with some selection of map layouts of your choice, so in some sense of customization on how you want to roll with this version of the game. However, I can't give this game a full 5 stars, even though most people would say this game is "Awesome", it is in a way. So some downside to the game as follow; First up is the graphic it's ok for the most part but you will notice the low res on backgrounds and on some objects granted they cram a lot of stuff into this game so the low res of textures is forgivable for the most part. The town folks don't really help you out much nor do they pay taxes so you're pretty much paying for everything yourself as the so-called Mayor of the town. SO therefore, the majority of the gameplay revolves around you either fishing/ bug catching/ digging/ tree shaking/ seashell selling/ tree growing and fruit selling/ and farming. "Farming!!" wait there is NO farming, aww j_j one more reason for the lost of one star. Another thing, is the size of the map it felt pretty small in my opinion and the way how the world is on a roller and with no camera control make it harder to look for things, in short, locked in view within a 3D world? Maybe its not so 3D? and if you play this game long enough you might feel some depth to the over game but at the same time it lacking some depth as well. Not sure how to express that so to each their own. I do enjoy this version of Animal Crossing quite a bit. While this game doesn't offer what you might expect you could do on an easy going lay back small town, so one would think farming is pretty much part of the game but unfortunately, it's not included. Remember what I said, "either" fishing or bug catching is pretty much of most of what you'll be doing most of the time within this game. On the positive side, the town folks can be cute or somewhat strange to kind of scary looking, it all depend on your view xD, While repetitive gameplay but since you want to upgrade your own house and the town it might give you the incentive to go sell that 100x fish or catch that 1000x bugs, because every time you upgraded something in your town something else get upgrade along, like new Shop or new Venus. Therefore, just the share amount of playtime you can get out of this game is already worth every cent of this little gem, so its one of the few excellent title for the 3DS. In conclusion; you will have fun regardless what anyone might say about this game, again the share amounts of playtime in this game is beyond most games could offers. As long you are the type that enjoys in long term investment and be rewarded for the long wait, its a slow pace game in a way. For some this is a warning, this game could suck the life out of your real life if do give this game a go :D so do look up to see if you might be heading for that pole down the street or other objects. ... show more

  • Fun and Addicting
I'm actually pretty addicted to this game. I now own three copies. Just bought another one recently for my 2DS. It's pretty fun. Your a mayor of a town and your job is to improve it. There's a train station that allows you to travel to another town (must have each other's friend code) or open your gate to allow others to come in. Once you unlock the island and become a member. Can't remember what's it called but anyways that allows you to play with others around the world. Only in the island. You can actually choose to either head to the island yourself or with others. If you also head to the island with the people in your town which. Tons of event going on that you'll never get bored of playing. ... show more
