Overall, this is a very nice and easily portable blender. The charge lasts through 4-5 blends and so far has done a good job. It has a little weight to it (as expected), but it is not too heavy and is easy to carry around. The lid locks back so it won't fall forward when you drink, but really until you get to that very last drink where it has to be almost inverted, it doesn't have to be locked back. The one downside that I've found so far is that frozen fruits need to be fairly small. Mango chucks that were about an inch across stopped the blades, but I just lightly shook the blender a few times while it was running and had no issues after that. ... show more

I decided to buy one of the Ninja Blast Blender when our families four BlendJet Blenders were recalled. We waited over two months for the replacements and they still hadn't arrived, so I decided to purchase a Ninja and request a refund from BlendJet. The Ninja is such a superior blender. Absolutely love this and will be purchasing additional ones. The power of the Ninja blends solids like frozen fruit and ice incredibly well. I've used my Ninja daily for morning protein shakes and they come out super smooth. No chunks of ice leftover like the competitors always had. The shape is much better on the Ninja. It has is round with a slight squareness to it that makes holding it much more comfortable. The container also has ridges all the way around it that the BlendJet does not have. BlendJet is smooth and round plastic and if it gets any condensation on the outside it can get slippery. The Ninja container also has fill lines on the outside of the container for minimum liquid, ounces, and maximum fill. BlendJet also has ounces called out on their container buy it is etched in the plastic container in the same clear color. It is so much easier to read the Ninja container because the ounces and other increments are black to contrast against the clear container. It is very easy to know how much liquid needs to be in there to make sure you get a great result. The lid on the Ninja is also much better than the competitors. The flip top to drink out of is very secure when closed and won't leak if it tips over. BlendJets lid needs to be removed to drink your smoothie or shake. There is also a sturdy handle on top of the lid that flips up and down if you choose to use it to carry the blender with you. The competitor uses a strap. The handle is much more convenient to me. The blade is great on the Ninja. I use about six ice cubes in my morning protein shake and it has yet to stop blending because it freezes up from the chunks of ice. Our BlendJets constantly stopped blending with ice in them and would need to be shook up to dislodge the ice and then turn it back on again. Not a problem with Ninja. The buttons for power and start/stop are simple to operate. You simply push the power button the turn it on and then the start/stop button to blend. There is a light indicator the spins around the start/stop letting you know the status of the blender (if it is charged, needs to be charged, etc). Included directions have all of the different light colors on the indicator called so you know exactly what the color means. Battery life has been very good. Blender has been used daily for over two weeks and still hasn't needed to be recharged. When it arrived it did need to be charged to full capacity and it took about an hour and a half. Not sure yet how long it will take to fully recharged when the indicator lets me know to plug it in. Recharging time isn't a big deal to me so it's not of much concern. The base on the Ninja is great. Super easy to grip without worrying that it might lip out of your hand. It also has an excellent shape with the slightly squared centers of each side (same as the fill container has). There is a nonslip rubber seal on the bottom so it won't slide across the counter while it is operating. Cleaning the Ninja is very easy. I believe the fill container and lid are dishwasher safe, but I hand wash it and let it air dry. Always seemed to have small fruit pieces remain behind (especially blueberries and chocolate) in the base of the BlendJet, while the Ninja hasn't had that problem. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Ninja blender. Being able to compare it side by side to its competition made it very easy to see firsthand that the Ninja is a superior product in a very similar price range. I was hesitant to get it because the reviews were either that it was fantastic or didn’t work at all, but when I saw the review from somebody saying that they finally contacted ninja because their blender just wasn’t working properly and they took care of it I decided to make the purchase. And I'm glad I did because I LOVE this blender! Cons: 1. doesn't fit in my cup holder. Like at all. I've got a Dodge Charger for reference and it simply doesn't fit which is a bit of a bummer but oh well. 2. Kind of a ***** to clean. as one person said, the blades are attached so you can't remove them to clean, and the base has electronics in it cuz duh so you can’t get it wet to clean it also because duh. It makes trying to clean it a bit tedious, especially if you don't clean it right away. I got this because I didn’t have time to make and eat lunch while at work (I don't get a lunch break. I'm supposed to eat in between customers) so after I finish my smoothie sometimes I literally don’t have any time to clean it until the end of the workday after we are closed so it’s been sitting for hours with nothing in it. at that point the smoothie residue is stuck onto the plastic and I have to actually scrub it to get it clean. The clear plastic blender cup isn't bad because that can be removed and cleaned but since you can’t stick the bottom part in water, it takes forever to clean it with a damp cloth. That rubber seal on the bottom in particular is not fun to clean, food gets in the grooves and there's a BLADE in the way when you're trying to clean it. the blade isn’t super sharp per se so I’m not getting cut but it’s still in the way and I'm sure I COULD get cut if I wasn't paying attention. Pros: it DEFINITELY lasts longer than one smoothie. I literally used it 8 times in three days: 1. Tested it once with nothing in it 2. Made a smoothie with banana almond milk fresh fruits and a scoop of protein powder for dinner. Blended it twice actually because I was scared of overfilling it so I underfilled it and added more. DAY TWO 3. Made a smoothie with banana almond milk frozen fruits and protein powder for breakfast 4. I saw someone say that they cleaned it by running it with soapy water in it so I tried that. Didn't really work, because of the cleaning the base issues I mentioned. 5. Made a smoothie with coffee, creamer, half and half, a scoop of peanut butter/hazelnut spread, one banana, and 7 ice cubes to take after work to my next job. DAY THREE I made a smoothie with banana almond milk protein powder and frozen fruit for breakfast. I OVER filled it (lol) and jammed the blades so it took a lot of shaking and restarting the cycle to get it to blend completely. At this point the yellow recharge light came on and I recharged it. It's definitely strong enough to deal with ice and frozen fruit and lasts longer than one smoothie. if yours isn’t, I would contact ninja and talk to them about it. Definitely recommended! I'm thinking about ordering the pink one too, pink and purple are my favorite colors lol and then I could have a lunch AND dinner smoothie ready. My only concern is if this is fridge safe. If I prepped a smoothie I'd definitely want to keep it in a fridge or even the freezer to keep it from going bad, but since the base is not removable from the cup I'm not sure it can be stored in the fridge safely. ... show more
