It took me a minute to become a believer, but I realized with some practice that in the time it takes me to preheat my oven, my food in this air fryer will be almost done. It cooks fries and hash browns wonderfully, and I threw away the pan of oil on my stove that I used for deep frying. I don't need it, because I can make everything I used to deep fry in my air fryer, in less time, with A LOT less mess, and no added oil. It's a lot more economical to cook, for instance, chicken nuggets, in the air fryer than to heat up the oven, and who wants microwaved chicken nuggets? Cleanup is ridiculously easy. The retro timer switch isn't the most precise, but it hardly matters. This unit is very forgiving. There are just two of us in my household and this is the perfect size for us. My first air fryer. It has a turn-dial for the cook time, and is always set to 400 degrees. The food comes out evenly done. It's sized to make a side dish for 2 people (veggies or potatoes). It is SO easy to clean too (my favorite part). The reason it's 4-stars instead of 5 is two-fold: 1. The turn knob for the timing is not very accurate. It's also hard to turn off if you feel like you've started to overcook something. There's also no pause-to-shake option. 2. For the same price point, I've seen larger air fryers that have digital timing and temp control. If you have more than 2 in your family, you will need something larger. Just got this Ninja Air Fryer and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's changing my life. Seriously, I used to burn salad and now I'm making gourmet meals! Pros: Super easy to use: Even I can't mess it up. The buttons are straightforward and it heats up super fast. Crispy everything: French fries, chicken wings, veggies – you name it, they come out perfectly crispy. I'm eating more veggies now because of this thing. Way healthier: Less oil, less guilt. I can snack without feeling like I need to run a marathon afterwards. Easy clean-up: The basket just pops out and it's non-stick, so a quick wash and you're done. No more scrubbing pans for hours. Cons: Size: Wish it was a bit bigger. When I make food for friends, I have to cook in batches. But still worth it. Check out the picture I posted with the Air Fryer Home Fries. I made them in this Ninja Air Fryer and I’m so glad I did. They are so delicious and you are in for a treat because I’m including my recipe below. Enjoy! AIR FRYER HOME FRIES RECIPE: INGREDIENTS 2 big potatoes, diced 1/2 green bell pepper, diced 1/2 red bell pepper, diced 1/2 yellow onion, diced 1/2 tablespoon, garlic powder 1/2 tablespoon, onion powder 1/2 teaspoon, smoked mild paprika 1 teaspoon all-purpose seasoning Salt and pepper to taste 1 tablespoon olive oil + more if needed. INSTRUCTIONS Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. Dice or slice your bell peppers and onions, and put in a large bowl. Dice or chop your potatoes (with or without skins) and mix into the bowl with your peppers and onions. Drizzle everything with your oil of choice. Sprinkle your seasoning in and mix everything until well coated. Cook in your air fryer for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through. This a straight forward machine … suited for no more than two people …. Easy to use , uses very little oil to get desired results , Finally I can eat healthy French fries …. I recommend using avocado oil as it does not smoke until you get above 400* degrees … also use real potatoes for the best taste … not frozen … I prefer to cut my fries thick …. And 25 minutes works well … but you need to turn them a couple of times … if you prefer thinner cut fries … you will have to play with the time and turn them more often so they don’t dry out … it will take you a few times of trial and error … but once you find your happy spot … you’ll be happy ! So let me see … tuna fish sandwich’s with fries , hamburger with fries , or how about a big salad with fries :))))) Enjoy! David ... show more

I purchased this as a Prime Deal for about $35. It operates at one heating temperature and has a rudimentary dial timer. The simplistic design is easy to use but does not warrant the full MSRP of $70. The basket and tray are not dishwasher safe but the non-stick surfaces are easily cleaned by hand with soap and water. Aftermarket silicon or paper inserts would further simplify clean up. It does a nice job chicken wings, but size limits then number of wings to about six or eight to ensure even cooking and crispness (single layer). If your house goes through a lot of pizza rolls and chicken nuggets in single serving quantities, this might be a good option. The nature of air fryers is circulating air so while its pretty quiet during warm up it gets about as noisy as a microwave when it gets going. It also projects the smell of the cooking food a good ways. This unit takes up about as much space as a toaster. A good toaster oven with an air fryer setting might be a more versatile tool that handles multiple functions without sacrificing counter space. ... show more
