  • 8 years and still going strong
Color: Gray Size: 48 oz.
I bought this blender in 2016 and I still use it! I mainly make smoothies with it but recently used it for hummus. It turned out great. I get worried that the blades need replacement because large frozen banana chunks take longer to pulverize. But other than that, I have no complaints. What I love most about this blender is that it is easy to clean (most parts) and it's the perfect size! I hate cleaning blenders. However, these blades can be easily removed so I can freely scrub the container. The only part that's hard to clean is the lid. There's some crevices that are hard to reach but maybe I just have to soak it in a bowl of water to get rid of the curst. This blender is also not too big which I like. I don't need a hardcore blender like the Vitamix. My kitchen isn't big enough. This blender is easy to store in my cabinets and not a hassle to assemble. Just put the blades into the container, lock the lid, and then put the blender cap once you plug it in. ... show more

  • OMG! Incredible!
Color: Gray Size: 48 oz.
Important to note: My comments are in the context of having been a Vitamix user for over 20 years. We bought the Ninja because we were looking for something to replace our Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus. We were attracted to the Ninja because the reviews said it turned out more consistent results compared to others. We also noted that people warned about how quickly it could turn ingredients from chunks to mush. Both are very true. What we love about the Ninja is that it's super light, and easy to assemble and clean. It's also very quiet compared to other machines. And, the bases are super stable--no traveling across the counter as our Vitamix wants to do sometimes. What's remarkable is how quickly the Ninja breaks down ingredients. We've been going crazy making nut butters, including peanut and pecan butters. That's where the Ninja totally shines in comparison to all other machines (and we've used them all, from the Vitamix and Cuisinart to others!). Quiet, effective, and speedy are the three words to describe the Ninja. We also made raw cranberry relish (raw cranberries, apples, whole oranges, and dates) that the Ninja zipped out in seconds. It's true that the Ninja won't turn out the kind of silky smooth cream soups that the Vitamix will, but if the Vitamix earns an A+ in this use case, the Ninja earns an A-. You also can't beat the price: Less than 10% of the cost for a Vitamix. Do the math. It's a simple equation if you don't absolutely need silky smooth textures. And there's no comparison with the Cuisinart Mini-Prep, which we found to be noisy, OK for salsa and courser chopping, but not great at nut butters. For the easy of use, what it produces, quietness, and price, the Ninja can't be beat. ... show more

  • Best Smoothie Blender I’ve Ever Owned
Color: Gray Size: 48 oz.
Now, this thing is verrry basic but I’m one who appreciates the simple things. No unnecessary bells and whistles and does exactly what I need it to. I’ve used the larger blender everyday since it arrived. I make a protein shake everyday with frozen fruit, yogurt, protein powder, etc. I have used the smaller blender to grind coffee beans and it’s worked great. Not really meant for it but it works just fine if using a coffee maker with paper filters. It is super easy to clean and is soooo much more affordable than a lot of blenders out there. I DO hand wash it all even though some items are dishwasher safe, I just don’t trust it. I had a fancier and much more expensive ninja prior to this that broke within a month of using and it was just a huge disappointment. I questioned whether or not I should try this brand again, but I took a shot and this one was definitely worth it! It has surprised me with how well it works. Hope to update in the months to come with its continued reliability. ... show more

  • My new favorite kitchen gadget
Color: Gray Size: 48 oz.
I absolutely LOVE my new Ninja. I cannot say enough how much I love it! Here are just a few of the many reasons why I am 100% satisfied with this over a traditional blender: 1. The price is comparable to a cheap model of blender, but the quality stacks up closer to that of a much pricier model. For me, since I live off of a university fellowship, price has to almost always come first when I buy something. 2. The blade design on this is far better than what you get with a typical blender. Most blenders have 2-4 blades, situated at the bottom. Because the blades are laid out that way, it is easy for chunks to become trapped and mess up the mechanism, which in turn means that you have to use more liquid in order to compensate. With the Ninja, there are two sets of blades that sit one above the other, so chunks don't get missed as easily and also don't get trapped or hide in a "corner". 3. Also because of how the blades are situated, the Ninja is far easier to pour out of and easier to clean. In a typical blender with the blades at the bottom, you often get quite a bit of food trapped down at the bottom and have to really work with a spatula to get it out. In the Ninja, you just pull the blade right out after blending, so it isn't in your way when you pour. That makes cleaning far easier, since the blades can be done separately. I personally feel that that is more hygienic, since I can be really, really certain that the blades are well cleaned without risking the massacre of my fingers. 4. With this, you essentially are getting two different blenders for the same price, because you get both a bowl and a pitcher, and they each come with their own blades. The bowl is much nicer for doing salsas and such; the pitcher is perfect for smoothies and shakes. This is also really handy for entertaining or just when you're fixing more than one dish, since you can blend two different dishes right away without having to thoroughly clean the blender in between. For instance, I like to make cream soups, which need the ingredients well blended together, but sometimes I like to fix a fruit purée to have as an appetizer before I enjoy my soup. I can do the soup ingredients and get them on to boil using one container and then do my fruit in the other instead of having to stop and really thoroughly clean the device first. 5. The entire assemblage is super easy to put together and stores easily as well. The directions have pictures and plain English, so there isn't any potential confusion there. 6. This thing handles ice and frozen fruit as though it were a literal ninja knocking out the inept bad guys in a movie. Fast, easy, flawless. I get creamy perfection every time I make something and it doesn't take long. ... show more
