I love the camera! And the kit is wonderful, so many useful parts and pieces! I will note that some of the other Amazon reviews have mentioned that the 52mm Macro lenses (which are meant for close-up photos) don't fit with this 55mm camera. The kit came with a 52-55mm step-up ring (which is basically an adapter to go between the normal lens and the Macro lens) (These items are all pictured here). After trying to put the step-up ring on, and watching some YouTube videos, I realized that the step-up ring that was sent with this kit is not meant for this camera. What should be sent in this kit is a 55-52 step-DOWN ring. After realizing this, I ordered a 55-52 step-down ring separately, which was only $5. I can understand how the seller got this ring mixed up (the two numbers are just switched! This is an understandable mistake). However, YouTube videos have shown me that even with the correct 55-52 step-down ring, the Macro lenses will show some vignetting (which means that there will be a black circle around the corners of the photo), but this problem is easily fixed by zooming in just a little. That being said, I have contacted the seller, notifying them of the incorrect ring being in the kit, so hopefully they will fix that soon for future buyers! But I love the camera very much (some photos shown here), and highly recommend it! Very easy to use for a beginner photographer (which I am). Comes with a nice, informative manual. Hi all, I'm an ameature photographer, so I got this to practice with. I used to have a nikond3400 compared to this I wanna say I like the look of the 3400 but other than that I'm happy with what I got, the quality is great and IF YOU USE IT RIGHT. You can obtain some pretty great pictures. The learning process is difficult but the features on it make it doable :) if your interested in seeing the quality shots i produced from the camera you can go to my Instagram Msmeowingtons1 (every photo that was taken by the Nikon will be listed) i tried to add a variety of photos to showcase the capability of the nikonD3500 in broad daylight, low light, dark areas, and up close) I like the macro lense that came with the set, I havnt used the other lenses yet. I don't like the red spider holder thing (forgot the name) I don't trust it to hold up my camera as it is a bit flimsy. The settings and buttons are very easy to comprehend, I think the difficult part is actually understanding photography Techniques such as shutter speed, long exposure etc. This is the perfect camera to start with and grow into, is easy to use and is also entry level! Great camera especially for beginners. The amount of stuff it comes with in this package is ridiculous for the price. The camera functions exactly as expected. Pro tip: You must manually turn off the automatic ISO if you switch to manual mode. The tripod isn't amazing but it works and it's better than nothing. The macro lens is great for wider angle shots. And the telephoto adds just a little more to your zoom for far away objects. I really like the bag it comes with. I love that it comes with three filters. I suggest using the UV filter to help protect the main lens. I have had no issues with the memory card. I have not used the card readers. That being said, DO NOT DELETE PHOTOS IN-CAMERA. We travel a lot and she wanted a camara that is easy to use, lighweight and takes great pictures. After researching on consumer reports and NYT Wireless we decided on this one. Truthfully I'm new to this hobby. Not at any level to wanna take family portraits or go on safaris and capture aninals and land or city- scapes. I'm a complete amateur. But i will say, this whole kit is amazing for me to start off with. The camera is crisp. Fresh out the box it's easy to configure. Everything I've experimented with and learned/ or currently learning about came in this kit. The generic lenses help alot and the cleaning kit and extra supplies give this bundle 5 stars. The only issue I have is the size of the bag. But besides that, 90%of everything fits. I'm just a pack rat that likes to make sure everything is there and prepared for nearly any situation. I’m very new to photography and a friend suggested this camera. The lens that comes with it is great for different shots in general. I purchased a different one for portrait photography and love it. This bundle is a great deal, but I noticed that prices lately have been going up on these items. I was waiting and it went up $100. I waited another month and it went back down. A major selling point of this camera is its wifi compatibility. Sadly the Nikon app that is used SnapBridge rarely works. They are updating it. I was able to use the pairing for a week. The remote photography was what really interested me. Sadly when I tried it the next weekend (at a group event that I had hoped to be in the pictures for) the camera wouldn't connect to the iPhone. The recent reviews at The App store share this complaint. Other than this MAJOR DRAWBACK I am happy with the camera. I just wouldn't have bought it had I been aware of this issue ... show more
