Says it can’t be used in sand but was able to test it on my sand tank and you can make it work if you’re smart with it. Doesn't get all of the excrement out but gets a lot of it. It is by far the best that I have used. I have bought 3 different ones before this one. Very easy and quick to change the water. I actually bought an extra in case something happens to this one!
