Overall it works great! It came with multiple brass fittings to connect it to your sink, and as long as you give yourself enough length for your needs it should work fine. My only criticism is that I wish the connection point to the vacuum part had a screw hose clamp instead of just the plastic one as I did have it "blow off" the end once. I was able to get it stopped quick enough that the only damage was me being a little damp, and now I just leave the end open when I switch from vacuuming to filling the tank (which also minimizes any "jet spray" effect from the air in the hose, which seemed to happen no matter how little water pressure I used, probably due to the length of hose.) In short, this is a great water changer and has all but eliminated buckets from my aquarium changes (except sometimes for my little tank, which is too small for this vacuum for anything less than 50% water changes). Highly recommend it even as an off brand - just watch a few youtube videos first if you've never used a water changer before. ... show more

I rated this 5 star because the product came as described and made cleaning a 150+ gallon so much easier! Literally! Initially, I was looking at this product for quite some time but was scared to purchase. I had purchased a product similar to this before but it didn't work as well as this one. Before, my husband and I, would clean the tank the "really" old fashion way where we'd use buckets to fill the tank. Imagine doing this to a 150+ tank. Took us forever! Now, water changes are a little less than an hour with prep work involved. Cons: Not enough of a vacuum pull that I'd like to see, in order to siphon poop out but does the job. Pros: Easy to assemble Multiple ways to attach to faucet or hose Easy to clean Can take water out of the tank quickly and fill the tank quickly Worth paying for EDIT: After some time using the product, it does make water changes easier however, I wished the suction was a little more powerful. This product is a game changer. Made doing a water change a breeze. I needed & appreciated the long hose. Only problem is that the plastic connection to the faucet cracked after one use. I've tried mending it the best I can & hope it will last. Didn't use the product until my return limit was up so that's why I wasn't able to return it.     • Good for filling, not so great for cleaning / draining

There are 3 main uses that affected how I rated this product - filling a tank, draining a tank, and cleaning a tank. I'm also taking into account ease of use. First of all, it's really easy to set up - anyone should be able to attach it with a pair of channel locks / pliers (and you might not even need those). I only needed to use channel locks because the existing fixture on the faucet was a bit hard to get off. The kit includes everything you need, with multiple adapters and thread tape. And the fact that it uses quick connectors is definitely nice. As far as filling a tank goes, it works really well. Once everything is hooked up to the faucet, you just run the vinyl tubing to the tank and turn it on. It filled a 55 gallon tank really quickly - faster than I thought, which almost resulted in over filling the tank! Much faster and convenient than lugging buckets back and forth from the sink. As far as draining the tank went, that still works decently, but it took a long time. And, once you get most of the water out, you have to make sure to keep the end of the cleaning tube completely submerged. If even a tiny bit of air gets into the cleaning tube you lose suction. To fix it, you have to take everything apart and then reassemble it, with all of the parts submerged (which was a bit tricky). As far as cleaning the tank goes, it really didn't work very well at all. It uses the pressure of water coming out of the faucet to generate suction, but even with the faucet wide open (both hot and cold), I was barely able to get even relatively light debris all the way up the cleaning tube to the point where it was sucked into the vinyl tubing. Overall, it's easy to hook up and works great for filling a tank, but for the price I thought it should have been better at draining and cleaning the tank as well. ... show more

I have had multiple arm and shoulder surgeries and I thought that was the end of being able to take care of my 55 gallon aquarium. BUT! I hooked this up to the sink, put the vacuum wand in, took 25% of the water out, flipped the lever on the sink and wand. Flipped the levers the opposite direction and it fills back up. How easy is that?! Definitely worth the price! I only have one negative, the attachment to the sink is plastic and didn't last a year. Thankfully, the replacement piece is well priced and easy to install. I'm extremely thankful that I can continue my aquarium hobby without hurting myself. You can't go wrong... ... show more
