Hello, I don’t usually do these, but I figured it would help out the next new aquatic turtle owner. Normally, I would clean the tank by syphoning the water into a bucket and dumping it outside like Im sure a lot of people do. However, I just moved to Seattle and now live on the sixth floor and can’t just dump it. I also hated the idea of dumping it in the tub because that’s where I clean my body. Overall it works great! It came with multiple brass fittings to connect it to your sink, and as long as you give yourself enough length for your needs it should work fine. My only criticism is that I wish the connection point to the vacuum part had a screw hose clamp instead of just the plastic one as I did have it "blow off" the end once. I was able to get it stopped quick enough that the only damage was me being a little damp, and now I just leave the end open when I switch from vacuuming to filling the tank (which also minimizes any "jet spray" effect from the air in the hose, which seemed to happen no matter how little water pressure I used, probably due to the length of hose.) In short, this is a great water changer and has all but eliminated buckets from my aquarium changes (except sometimes for my little tank, which is too small for this vacuum for anything less than 50% water changes). Highly recommend it even as an off brand - just watch a few youtube videos first if you've never used a water changer before. ... show more

I got this mainly for my indoor fancy goldfish pond, it's on the floor so a regular gravity siphon is a hassle to use. I use a Python at work for a huge system and it makes cleaning the tanks so easy so I wanted a smaller scale automatic siphon for my tanks and pond. The pictured product is exactly what you'll get you just need to assemble it. It works pretty much like the Python siphon just smaller and it will do the job for a home aquarium, even the larger ones. One important note is that the suction power will depend on the faucet it's attached to, so you may need to increase your water pressure if it's too weak. It's not the fault of the product. Getting one of these vs. a gravity pump siphon is a no-brainer. There's no mess and lugging around heavy buckets, and it's a good product for the price. Two issues I ran into though: Firstly the assembly has one quirk for me which was attaching the clear tube and getting the drainer to fit. It takes a lot of fiddling around and I was scared I would break the tube trying to squeeze it in. So just be gentle and patient with it. Secondly the adapters didn't fit my sink but I'm not going to fault it on the product since the bathroom faucet I have is a really odd size. One of the adapters fit my kitchen sink however so it's fine. Other than that I'll be tossing the 3 other pump siphons I have now. ... show more

Had to hook it up to my bathroom faucet. Followed assembly instructions. It worked right away. No leaks. Just used it for the second time. Got it out, hooked it up. Drained, refilled 15 gallons and put it away in under 20 minutes.

This hose/vacuum is a must have for any fish tank owner. It allows me to easily fill my fish tank after a water change and you can switch the valve and use it as a gravel vacuum. It does work better if your sink is higher than your fish tank. My sink is about 20 feet away and the hose has to go down and back up to reach the sink. Good material and it works as it should. However, if you are going to to use it on a 13/16” faucet the adapters will not work. They have different thread sizes and it can’t be assembled. Think about going with another brand if you are going to use a 13/16” faucet.

I rated this 5 star because the product came as described and made cleaning a 150+ gallon so much easier! Literally! Initially, I was looking at this product for quite some time but was scared to purchase. I had purchased a product similar to this before but it didn't work as well as this one. Before, my husband and I, would clean the tank the "really" old fashion way where we'd use buckets to fill the tank. Imagine doing this to a 150+ tank. Took us forever! Now, water changes are a little less than an hour with prep work involved. Cons: Not enough of a vacuum pull that I'd like to see, in order to siphon poop out but does the job. Pros: Easy to assemble Multiple ways to attach to faucet or hose Easy to clean Can take water out of the tank quickly and fill the tank quickly Worth paying for EDIT: After some time using the product, it does make water changes easier however, I wished the suction was a little more powerful.
