The media could not be loaded. Looked too good to be true-but it wasn't! Our tank is located near a northwest facing window yet algae was still a constant problem. I hated scraping the tank then all the algae scraping ended up clouding the water, not to mention upsetting the fish. I purchased a small, and the magnet was a bit weak but everything else is well put together. I looked through my history and noticed I purchased my orignal from same company so reordred. I contacted support and they responded quickly. I ended up with a larger size and the magent is very strong. I have multiple tanks. 75/29/10 x2 -- It works well in all. It is quite the beast. Large gripping surface, which you will need as the magent is strong. I used it on my 75 tonight and it too a good bit of force to get it moving. It is a bit large in the 10g's , I didn't notice if they had a 'medium' size, if they do & you're thinking of the small size. Upgrade to the medium. ... show more

It works and took the algae off my glass. But it was tedious because the magnet kept coming loose. The magnet is very weak. The only thing that saves it is the blade. DONT get the light blue one (without the blade) I have it and it doesn’t work! Ok for the price

edit 6.2.24: I am sorry to have to reduce my rating down to one star. I'm using their largest magnet scraper on my 200 gallon tank to keep the algae at Bay and I can no longer do that because the razor blade scraper/holder won't stay seated on the end. it keeps on popping off. I've made sure the indent and tab are clean but nothing seems to help. edit 5.29.23 : ordered a new one after the other one started leaking. the new one has now been working for months with no issues so I'm upgrading my review to a 4 star. I'm withholding a star only because the first one was defective and I wish the magnet was a little bit stronger for my thicker glass. I have a 210 gallon aquarium and The Glass looks like it's about a half inch thick. this magnet scrubber seems to work great but in using it the first time I had a series of continuous bubbles emanating from the inside the aquarium half of the pair. strong magnetic attraction through the half inch glass seemed to work great on stubborn brown algae that has grown on the glass. some spots it took 10 or so passes of the inside scrubber to clean this stubborn algae off but I am pleased with the results. since my aquarium is about 2 ft deep the desire to have a floating magnet is key and my concern is the bubbles indicate water is going into the inside of the aquarium half. I may just have a manufacturing defect and will replace this unit for what I hope to be a better one from the same manufacturer. ... show more
