The curtains don’t noticeably dampen noise, but when they say blackout, they mean blackout—they are heavy duty. If my husband is sitting in the living room with the lights on and I’m trying to sleep in the bedroom, it’s very dark: no light comes through (except through the grommets at the top). We used a track curtain, and it was super easy to hang the curtains from the hooks. Also, final note: these curtains definitely stop heat from going through! I have an older house, so tons of windows for natural light. BUT .. I don’t like the heat and don’t always want it so bright. Also not a fan of uncovered windows at night. Haven’t had them long but I already really like them. Really are black out curtains and I do notice the heat staying out. Hasn’t been too cold out yet, but can definitely tell a different with heat would expect the same for the cold. Though will say they had wrinkles out of the package and just hung up to see if they’d just pull themselves out but so far still wrinkled. May have to take down and throw in the dryer for a bit. But overall really like these a lot and definitely will be buying more .. when my husband isn’t paying attention. ... show more

    • Best curtains ever, worth the money

I work the night shift and any light that hits my face will wake me up and I can't go back to sleep. Because I've been searching for the right curtain for so long I layer them on top of each other to block as much as possible. I had an eclipse black out on top of a room essentials blackout curtain and it was okay sometimes the light would still wake me up. I put these up last night and I got the best sleep of my life. (My smart watch even said I slept better lol) I initially woke up to use the bathroom and didn't check the time, I opened my bedroom door and it was bright and sunny outside but my room was almost fully pitch black! Only a bit of light seeped through the sides but its nothing a push pin can't fix. I recommend you measure your windows and buy the next width up. My window was about 36 inches in just the glass part, I got the 42 inches and it more than covered the window glass and the outside of the frame. When I bought these I wanted a pale pink, the color is very nice and not intense. They should just call it pale pink because it's not much purple in the color. I also bought this used from the Amazon warehouse, they were in perfect condition, just wrapped in some plastic instead of the original package. I don't care though because I ended up paying $21 for two of these amazing curtains. If it's on sale stock up they're worth it! Also I was not paid or given anything for this review! These blackout curtains were a lifesaver for me. It's recently been getting colder and since my room tends to match the temperature outside due to poor fitting windows, I was looking for a new set of curtains to keep the cold out. Compared to other blackout curtains on the market, mainly name brand ones, these are great value! They have great weight to them that makes them fall nicely and they keep not only the morning rays out but the cold. Will look forward to when it begins to get warmer and see if it can keep the heat out :) ... show more

I moved into a townhome and bought some cheap curtains because there were none on the patio. Eventually I had bought curtains for other windows ass well (als cheap but better at blacking out. Recently I had upgraded my entertainment center and wanted to make it movie theater dark in the living room and my current curtains + blinds were not up to the task. I checked amazon and came across these. I bought 8" for my patio and entryway, I bought 4.5' for my windows. Now my living room can be made dark at any time in the day. These look and feel so much better than my cheap ones, and honestly they weren't that much more $$$. If you need great looking and or room darkening curtains definitely check these out, available in quite a few colors. Also I measured wrong the 1st time and they took back that one no problems. In all seriousness, the curtains are wonderful. Color was exactly as advertised. Length was great. Blocks out the light extremely, extremely well. The only thing that I guess I could find a ‘problem’ with is that it comes wrinkled out of the box, and can stay like that unless you straighten it out. (Again, that’s getting picky. I really could not care much because I just needed the light blocked baby.) ... show more

In the summer we get tripple digits where I live. Way shocked how much it kept the heat out. We didn’t have to use the AC this much this summer. We’re noticing it helps on the fall cold snap we’re getting keeping the room warm in the morning. The material is soft and the color range is impressive for any design. Heavy weight and sleek.
