These curtains are well made, have a nice clean look and are true blackout curtains. I ordered some other ones from a different store that claimed to be blackout, but they didn’t keep the light out at all. However these nice town curtains are very effective at keeping the room dark if that is important to you. They have a thick black layer on the back, which is key to having them keep the room dark. I live on a very busy street, and the cars and motorcycles are noisy. Purchased these drapes to block out the noise. They are manufactured with quality fabrics and good workmanship. They are thick and a bit heavy, but not too heavy for my curtain rods. Blocks out A LOT of noise, and I can only hear the super loud cars and motorcycles, but it's muffled. Blocks out the light of the sun, and THE HEAT too. Three in one drape. Color is a beautiful mauve pink and fits the width and length of the window perfectly.     • Best Blackout Curtains Ever - Especially for Kids or Houses that Need Extra Insulation

These are great blackout curtains. I live in a house built in 1930 with original (1 pane) windows in Oklahoma (very hot summers and occasional very cold fronts in winter). I also have 2 small kids who sleep better in absolute dark. So, I bought a set of these curtains back in 2019 for one kid. We were delighted with how heavy and thick they were. Then I bought more in 2022 for another room because we realized that we needed that extra insulation/protection from the heat. And then I bought some more just another month ago in 2024 for the other kid. I'm about to buy even more to finish out the rooms that could use curtains. The curtains keep the rooms extra dark, except at the tops where some light peeks through. This isn't an issue unless you have a newborn who will wake up at the slightest light. In which case, put some extra blankets across the tops. The curtains also help keep the temperatures down in summer and up in winter. When we put the curtains up in a room that had big windows on all sides in summer 2022, you could literally feel the temperature drop the moment the curtains were up. One thing that I wish I had realized at the beginning (new mom brain so I wasn't paying close attention) is that the curtains come in different widths and heights. So, make sure to measure the size you want. The curtains also have some wrinkles around the creases when you open them that are nearly impossible to get rid of, but that's not a dealbreaker for me at all. Solid curtains, that significantly darken a room and keep it cooler. I have bought them 3 times in 2 different colors and been very happy with the quality, especially since you can spend so much more on blackout curtains. The colors have also been true the pictures. The only downside is that like any other curtains, unless you can somehow really hang it flat against the wall, if you have direct sun on your window, the light will still shine around the edges. ... show more

I washed mine in the washing machine on cold and dried them on low heat. Instructions say you can iron, but they were wrinkle-free after pulling them straight out of the drier. They hang at the perfect length and the color is true to the picture. We also performed the test of trying to shine a flashlight through the material - no light gets through!
