We live in an apartment with multiple large windows, two big sliding glass doors leading to a balcony, and two beautiful dogs who like to play neighborhood watch. Initially, these curtains/drapes were meant to replace the plain vertical blinds that you find in common apartment complexes. Anytime one of the pups wanted to look out the door - one of the blinds would come off, slowly leaving us exposed and not to mention cold because there was nothing to stop the draft coming through the door cracks. Long story short, the apartment now retains a lot more heat, there is a lot more privacy, the pups can look out as much as they want, and according to family that has come over - it makes our cozy 1,010 square feet apartment look a lot bigger. Instead of getting ready for work I'm still lying in bed writing about what may be the greatest black out curtains I've come across. They're so soft and definitely sturdy but nowhere near heavy and bulky like I thought they'd be. When they say black out curtains they literally mean black out. It looked like it was still the deep of night when I woke this morning. I bought them because my apartment is an ice box and while it's not a slam dunk at keeping out the cold it made a noticeable difference immediately. And to be fair, it's like 40 degrees Fahrenheit (at the warmest) where I live right now so not much is going to keep out the cold in my older apartment. A+ curtains. The important part though is that they block the cold air that always seems to come thru the North window - glass and wind blowing thru the cracks in the window frame. I work third shift. It is essential that I can block out the light, but I’m going to have to go to the store and buy two more panels. This very much irritates me. However, the color is very pretty! They’re nice curtains if you’re on a budget, and want heavier drapes, say, to block the drafts. They work passably for that, and the room is very dark, just not dark enough to be called blackout. I love these curtains so much. I have white and these are the long 96 inch in length. I hung them high to give the room a more taller look. They looks so good. I’ve gotten so many compliments on these. They are thick and keeps the light out and provide privacy.
