**Update 3/2024** Never got a chance to put these 60W panels to the true test in the desert, had not yet figured out how to fit them in the already overpacked car for Boondocking. The 2x50W version of these I made into a suitcase performed extremely well. Placed rocks under stands to prevent desert winds from blowing them over. Finally got these 60W panels out of storage to add stands to in the same way, and found one junction box damaged. Hadn’t noticed it when I first did testing. Contacted Newpowa support and they have stellar customer service. They were unable to help with parts for this older 5 busbar model, but shipped a new replacement 9-busbar panel. All 3 panel types are in the latest picture. Tested very well in SC sun. Have new car storage setup for more panels. Will attempt a desert trip soon. Great panels and support. **Original Review**I really like these solar panels. These 2 60-Watt 24V panels are going to be my second DIY suitcase. 28” x 20” 11 lbs each high quality mono panel was my decision maker for me. My first 2 panels are the 50-watt 12V version of these from a year ago 23” x 20” 9 lbs each original decision maker to fit in car. I use those in series for higher voltage to a EPEver Tracer 30A (see Will Prowse YouTube videos for more info). Those are great little panels, and I regularly get 90% or greater power in good direct sunlight, New York summer or Carolinas winter. These new 24V panels Vmp-33.54V is equal to the 2 x 12V panels in series, so they should parallel with that suitcase just fine. I have been testing great for a few tests, 115watts from 2 60-watt 24V panels parallel via MPPT into LiFePo4 12V 100ah battery nearly topped off. I bought 8 of the panels over a year ago. They work great and are made of high quality materials. I live off grid (about 13 years now) and these are my source of power for my house. I have not had any issues with the panels. I would highly recommend.

    • My Project is Working - 48V System to Charge my Electric Rivian R1T Truck

4 Panels - put out around 115-125 V on an average day - 3.9A / .5 KW / 4.3 KWH / ... Using a Sungold Inverter on a bank of 16 6v golf cart batteries - to put out 48V. Yea - I started the project 5 years ago and at some point will rid myself of the golf cart batteries when they start going bad. My Rivian R1T electric truck - if I use the slow L1 charger - says it's charging at 1.2kW - - - so..... Starting a day at full charge on the 48v batteries - running the inverter - and as the Solar Panels continue to add juice to the batteries - - - - On a sunny day will drain the batteries after about 8 hours - and I have to unplug my truck and let the batteries charge back up. 30 miles +/- will be added to my truck for the day - 200 miles a week sort of.... from the sun. Goofy thing I did was doubled the wires from the 50 foot run from the inverter to the panels - I saw a change from 1.9A to 3.9A / .3KW to .5KW - yea that's not code - whatever.... I did it to test it - and now will order a thicker wire and replace that run. Will it ever pay for itself NO - I probably spent $5k on the setup could have paid my light bill for a year with that - but that was never the point. Hurricane season? - I'm good - tied the system into my one room in the house I use as an office - and my battery bank runs my outlets / computer / tv / internet etc - 24 + hours with zero sun. What did I learn? - don't waste time on 100 watt panels - or 12/24 volts - go 200 / 48 v and buy a nice inverter up front so you don't throw away the one you tried to save money on..... and run the thickest wires you can. Buy the new good batteries for sure. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Hard to say like or not. I put it on vehicle roof and the Efficiency is just suitable for a small fan and phone. I think I can not adjust the surface towards the sun, so the efficiency is not satisfied. Now it does not work, I do not know whether it is because of the bumps on the road. ... show more

So this is older technology from my viewpoint. It has to do with series vs. parallel arrangements. If you're going to mount it where is has full sun all the time, it's fine and will meet your needs. However, any kind of shade over the smallest portion of this type of panel kills the power significantly. Microcrystalline is maximized in the IR spectrum. This panel seems particularly tuned to the far IR. If I put this in my window for example that has the IR scattering gas, these panels do not work at all; whereas, other microcrystalline panels do not have this issue because of design that does not require a whole series ( internal to panel ) to work . Though, many times, these are not designed to be mountable. I purchased a separate brand ( not mountable ) and put it in my window and it starts generating voltage right way and produces over >10W on a fairly sunny day. Bottom line is the panel works, it is very sturdy and good for mounting but be aware of the shade issue around this type of panel. This would be a good desert panel. ... show more
