I have not received the unit yet and my review is about Newhouse's pre-sales support. I asked about the acceptable voltage range for the CHM3D product and quickly received a technically-useful answer I can actually use. The answer may help others, both in deciding whether this is a manufacturer they want to use, and when selecting a transformer: Q from me: What is the safe voltage range for the 16vac input on the CHM3D? A from Newhouse: Voltage should read between 18 - 22 volts A/C on the low voltage side of the transformer when chime is NOT playing. If the voltmeter reads below 18 volts when the chime is NOT playing or below 16 volts when the chime IS playing, replace the transformer. ... show more

    • Stopped working after 30 days
Unfortunately after 30 days the chimes stopped working. The first “ding” goes off and you can here the mechanics working and after 45 seconds you have a softer second “ding”. If your not sitting next to it you won’t notice it. I’ve tried exchanging it but haven’t been success as the company website says “under construction”. ... show more

    • Gets thr job done
We live in an older house and wanted to replace the old chime. This one looks a lot better. I like the two chimes for the different doors.

    • Works well, not really loud, buzzes if mounted vertically
It's fine but since we didn't want it to take up much wall space I mounted it vertically. The DING is fine but it buzzes on the DONG.
