I have a Lexus es300h 2019 that comes with dashboard interface to only work (wired) with CarPlay and not Android Auto. I was long for the ability use Android Auto even thru wire on the vehicle. Recently, I went across the Carpuride W707, reviewed its features, and found that it can connect wirelessly to my phone. I decided to pick one up to try. After 2 weeks working with it I found the followings: 1. Setup was fairly easy. (10 minutes) 2. Comes equipped with both dashboard mount and windshield mount. I was able to use the windshield on my dashboard with no issues. The windshield one allows me extend the unit off the dashboard for me to setup unit at an angle relative to my existing car screen. 3. Audio can be connected to the car stereo thru FM or Aux line. I chose FM. With the built-in equalizer, the audio sounds good. The negative about FM connection is that there will be brief 3 sec static noise from the car stereo while the unit is booting up and attempt to connect to the car. 4. Navigation voice is relatively low compared to the music so make it hard to comprehend what it tries to say. This is with the unit volume cranked to max. 5. Day/Night automatic mode in Android Auto doesn't work with the unit. I will have select the mode specifically/manually. 6. Boot up screen image can be customized by sending Capuride the image of choice for them to generate the boot up image. 7. Screen resolution is excellent and bright even during sunny day. At night, the brightness is lowered via a light sensor on the backside of the unit. 8. Unit built looks strong and durable. 9. Customer service is very responsive via email communication. Overall, I love the addition of this unit to my car as I now can have a large display of Android Auto rather than relying a smaller screen on my phone to navigate. I priced get a new car radio with carplay, they said around $800. So I took a chance with the Carpuride, well worth the money.

Works as stated. Good value. Easy set up. Only suggestion would be to also get an external mic if you want to use for phone calls. Outgoing sound was hard to hear. $7 mic solved it.

This seems like a good unit. The pairing isn't difficult and it connects immediately when I start the vehicle. If some functions seem off, write them and download the firmware update. Warning - it may only be done via flash drive, not PC/Mac connect. After the update it functioned well. No complaints, so far. ... show more

Bought this on a whim after seeing it in a MKBHD YouTube video. Installed it in our 2011 Honda Civic and it’s been a wonderful addition. Our other car already had CarPlay so it was painful when I had to use our Civic. Our Civic now has the better CarPlay experience of the two as it is both wireless and a touch screen, which our 2021 Acura has neither. The experience has been pretty smooth thus far. It boots up as soon as the car turns on and connects to my phone and launches CarPlay automatically. The touchscreen has had a few hiccups where it wouldn’t respond to touch inputs when first powering on. This has only happened twice and a reboot of the unit has resolved it. If this continues to persist then I may update my review but, so far, it’s been a minor inconvenience compared to the added utility this device provides. ... show more

    • False advertising
One of the images shows that you can use the device only for the display and have the phone audio goes to the car bluetooth. The "manual" does not list this as a choice and I have been unable to find a setting on the device to accomplish this. This was the only reason I bought this device.

    • Not compatible with polarized sunglasses
The screen cannot be viewed when wearing polarized sunglasses, because the screen has horizontal polarization filters, whereas polarized sunglass lenses are vertically polarized. This seems like a major design flaw.
