  • Very good quality, good value and good design
Color: Grey Size: Medium
The media could not be loaded. Over all this appears to be a good, sturdy cage – at a very low price. I am impressed with its build quality and a couple key features often lacking in commercial cages. 1. A tall substrate dam – perfect for 4 inches of Miracle-gro potting mix (see the articles further down about substrate, Miracle-gro, etc. Also read why we DONT want a.) clean-up crews, b. drainage layers, or c. thermostats in our cages – believe it or not) 2.) A screen top. And yes I know you hoarders want to stack your cages. This company (and its selling under other names too) makes a separator that allows stacking with the overhead lights. Screen tops are IMO the best option for most species. we often underestimate the need for good ventilation. And this cage design has slatted vents at each end in addition to the screen top. Very good. The down side o the smaller versions of this cage – it comes in roughly 2 for, 3 foot and 4 foot widths, is that the screen top doesnt allow as much room as you might want for UV, infra-red and visible light. You could mount an LED strip or small shop type light inside along the front edge though, leaving the top screen for UV and warming near-infrared. The overall design is a bit squishy with the tall substrate dam. I prefer the looks and functionality of the design I have tutorials for below. But I know many prefer to buy – and this cage is the best option for the cost that Ive seen. When building here are some important things to keep in mind. 1.) Finger tighten the plastic screws initially. Put everything together loosely and then go back and snug the screws (bolts) up. 2.) Be careful with the plastic “wrench” that comes with the cage. It is convenient, but with just a little too much pressure you will strip the bolt head and the screw threads. And then you will be screwed. They do not have to be all that tights, so just snug them up. 3.) Think before attaching the front lock a the plastic finger pulls. I placed mine too close to the edges of the glass and they disappeared behind the lip on on end, and butted into the lip on the other. So look and think before you adhere them to the glass. 4.) Consider using silicone to seal the seams along the back and around the bottom. I would leave the top alone so it’s easy to remove. This step is not necessary if you are not doing bioactive, and may not even be necessary for many drier bioactive – read the article below on substrate moisture. Too much moisture is probably the single biggest problem with bioactive enclosures! 5.) The screen is quiet heavy – which is good because it is sturdy, but will block UV. So check with the FB Reptile Lighting group to see if they have the % UV blockage for this cage and calculate accordingly. ... show more

  • I am SO HAPPY!!!
Color: Maple Size: Medium
This product is soooo easy to assemble! Absolutely no tools required! They supply you with these really nice durable thick plastic bolts and a screwing mechanism to tighten them. The assembly process was quite therapeutic for me, I enjoyed the process and how easy it was. The material is so nice! I can tell this product is made for durability! I’ve ordered two other habitats prior to this in my search for the perfect habitat and had to return both due to damage and also they were so heavy. This product is light weight yet very sturdy and it looks beautiful! I am so pleased with this enclosure! It is a little bit smaller than the dimensions listed yet it is still a really great size for us! Thank you so much for making this product extremely well made with care and attention to detail. Also thank you for making this product quite affordable compared to other brands. I am so so very happy with this purchase and when I need a bigger enclosure I hope to purchase the large size and hope it will be made available here. ALSO: shipped with FEDEX and there was no damage to the product, shipped with care! I am so grateful! Thank you!!! ... show more

  • Solid Product for a Leopard Gecko, Could be Even Better
Color: Grey Size: Medium
First off, I've used other products by New Age Pet/ECOFLEX. They ranged from OK to good and lasted about 3 years before something happened to them. Granted, the products were outside between 100 degrees and single digit days throughout those years, every day, rain, snow or shine. I will note that this PVC tank is a different material than the rest of their products I have used. I personally think the quality of this PVC/Plastic is much better than what I have used in the past by them. Out of all the products that I have used by ECOFLEX, this PVC tank is by far the most solid product I have used by them. I wish I could give this 4.4 stars, but we will go with 4 stars. Is it perfect or 5/5? No. Is it solid, well-built and easy to assemble? Definitely. Pros: - All PVC boards are dual layered with air gaps to help with insulation. Still light weight (Easily under 25 pounds), but has provided great heat retention so far, allowing my lights to run less. This saves money for me and keeps my gecko toasty at night. - Took less than 45 minutes to assembly by myself. If you can RTFM, you should be fine. Be sure not to overtighten or force the screws, you WILL crack the PVC due to the pressure. I learned this the hard way with one of the other products I have used by them. Tighten until it is snug and barely moves, DO NOT push past this point. - 10-year warranty. This is a must for me. Anything that has a long warranty shows the company is willing to stand by their product. I couldn't find any other glass, wood or PVC tank company out there that went past 3 years that was under $400. - The tempered glass doors are thick and heavy (but not too heavy). The locking bracket is simple and effective for my usage. Very well made. Improvements, not deal breakers: - Top of the tank has a thick 2-inch boarder around the mesh area on all sides. While this does increase the strength of the mesh screen and make it look nice, it does remove a lot of real estate for lights. Reducing this to a 1-inch border is a safe compromise. - Locking bracket comes out just a tad too far and presses against the opening glass, causing a slight scratching noise. I bent the locking bracket back towards the glass a bit and it helped. Keep this in mind when installing the bracket. Ensure it doesn’t scratch the adjacent door before sticking it on. - Inner dimensions are almost 1” less than the listed general dimensions of 36”x18”x18”. Outer dimensions are 36.6”x18.6”x18.6”. Inner dimensions are 35”x16.8”x16.8”. So, if you are looking for a tank that is exactly 36”x18”x18” on the inner dimensions, keep this in mind. You lose about an inch on each side due to the thickness of the PVC tank and outer trimming. This is not a deal breaker for me since I have a leopard gecko, and this footprint already exceeds the minimum requirements. If you need a bigger footprint for, say a bearded dragon or the like, I suggest looking at the large 48”/extra-large 60” tank or another PVC brand. Cons: - No grommet or the like on this sized tank (Only on the extra-large - 60"). This is quite a disappointment as it makes it difficult to get temperature/humidity control sensors in the tanks for proper husbandry regulation. A 1-inch grommet on either the left or right side would be perfect for a tank this size. I ended up taking a 3/16th drill bit and widened the edge of one of the side slits (3rd slit down) to put the sensor in. It works this way but shouldn't require me to make fabrications like this to the tank out of the box and risk the warranty for basic needs/requirements for any reptile. - Top of the tank does not open in any way. I wish there was a way to take the top off without unscrewing it completely off to deep clean. - Sliding glass door is LOUD. Luckily my gecko doesn’t care at all for the noise (sees it as me coming to get them or give them something) but boy do my cats put their ears back and give me a weird look… While the guiding system works well to keep the glass in place, I think smoothing out the glass edges and using a different material for the track will help with it. I feel the rubber creates too much friction and creates the high-pitched noise my cats and I hear. - The glass doors were a pain to get in. Even following the directions, getting the second piece of glass was very difficult. Per piece, probably took me the longest out of the whole thing. The first door went in with no problem. The second door would not fully snap into the front rail no matter the angle you tried. I had to loosen the right-side top to lift it up slightly and get the glass to fit in while holding the first glass door on the left. Hopefully you are good at multi-tasking. It was a pain to say the least. Overall, I am happy with the tank with the adjustments I have made for my leopard gecko. I would even consider a second one despite the cons above. However, I think there are small things the company can do from the factory that can significantly improve the product they are creating. I hope to see them take this review and implement some of the suggestions for a better product. ... show more

  • My favorite enclosures for a budget!
Color: Maple Size: Medium
I was given one of these enclosures (the largest one i believe) by a family member that got an extra one that came with the stand and fell in love with it! I had to come back for more, so i did just that and got this enclosure for my geckos! They love it. In my opinion building it is super easy and doesn't take long at all, sometimes the parts come cracked but it hasn't been a problem as they're all minor and still has very sturdy Material. They also look SUPER good and clean easy. Performance in my opinion is a 10/10 and will be buying again most likely. ... show more
