With these Extender Clips, you can now mount the Turtle Topper on rectangular tanks up to 55 gallons and 19.5” wide. You no longer have to worry about filament issues with wider tanks! In other words, these clips allow for mounting on wider tanks, up to 19.5” in width. The gallon capacity and other standard limitations still remains the same. These Extender Clips are Sold Separately from the Turtle Topper.Easy to Use: With the suction cup facing up and in, place the Extender Clip on the wall of an open tank, and then tighten the plastic screw by turning it clockwise. This product was a cool addition to my tank, however, the ramp sits too high and my turtles shell was too big. When I took the side holds off, the ramp was too unstable to hold his weight for him to climb. The amount of water in the tank for him to use the ramp also made me feel uneasy, so I unfortunately have to return. However, it really is a cool and stable product if you have it all assembled! Also, I do recommend having clamp lights for this, not lights that sit on top as the screen isn’t huge and did not fit a double-basking light. This fit my 55gallon tank perfectly, and if your turtle is smaller this would work perfect. A full grown, 8 year old, yellow bellied slider was too big height wise to fit in the ramp area, but was fine in the basking area. ... show more

    • World’s greatest aquatic pet turtle product!!!
Pattern Name: Turtle Topper
Finally, a company that has made the world’s greatest aquatic pet turtle product!!! It shows how scientifically advanced we have become, only you have to supply the lamp. My turtles were at first shy of it, but it only took a matter of minutes and less than a day for them to start taking turns climbing up into the enclosed platform to bask. The clear top is movable with ridges to clamp several lamps, from both sides, and a metal grid door on top that can open if you need to insert food, etc. into it. Everything is made super easy. I have five mapping turtles. The size is great for them and the topper fits on my 37 gallons, near perfectly. Make sure you measure the size before purchasing. The only natural setback is that the turtles can get spooked from the clear plastic and hop quickly back into the water. I suggest covering the clear plastic with plants or other décor to provide them with a more hidden environment and hence they are less likely to get spooked, but also less visible when they are in there. The topper is great! Our RES immediately went into it. It holds heat great, and it's enclosed. Our old one was homemade and open grated plastic. Our cats can't see him now or mess with him. It fit perfectly on our 55 gallon, and I had it assembled and installed in about 5 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend! Our RES loves it, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy. I really recommend above-water basking docks. Some added benefits I saw in my turtle are more room to swim, a bigger area to bask in, a "window" to the outside, and more comfort to me! I have been using this product about a year now, and I really like it. This product specifically I find way overpriced, but it is really the only one on the market as far as above water basking docks go. I have now bought two, and let me tell you, it is a pain to assemble! Don't even bother with the little swing at the bottom of it. It fell off for me and my turtles were too heavy for it anyway. Also, there is a learning curve with your turtles on climbing it. I find it is too steep and you have to raise the water level very high for them to get up. Because of the added water level of this product, both of my turtles, in 2 separate tanks, have both escaped once each. This was never an issue before I got this product. So, please learn from my mistake and make sure you cover the top if you're adding to the water level!!! Thankfully, my turtles were both safe but it was very very scary. But, I probably will never stop using this product unless it falls apart or something better comes on the market because I ADORE how cute my turtles look when they're looking over the side at you while basking. I found my turtles are a lot more comfortable when I take them out the tanks, and I really think they enjoy looking around the room when they're at the top of their basking platform looking out the clear plastic. Again, I wish the ramp wasn't as steep and it wasn't so costly, but I do think this is better than a lot of the in-tank basking platforms. I have used a lot of in-tank basking platforms and this one has stayed the longest. My turtles have outgrown all the floating ones because of their weight, and this one is very supportive and spacious I find. I don't think this is a forever-basking platform but I think this is the best one on the market and if I ever decide to upgrade I'll just have to build one myself. That being said, if I ever got another tank I would most likely get another one of these. Above-ground basking platforms gave my turtles a safe and sturdy way to explore the world (definitely don't let them explore out the tank like mine tried to tho!!!! For real, get a good lid!!!!!). If are able to, I definitely recommend building one instead but please make sure it is sturdy. Better safe than sorry, always! Even if it means buying a $50 piece of plastic. (But hey, plastic is super easy to clean!) ... show more

my turtle loves it, it's such an upgrade from the small green one i had. the one with the fake grass haha. this product is awesome, normans a huge fan, and i trust it 100 percent that he cant get hurt or get loose from his new basking area. it has quite a bit of space too so i plan to use this for a very long time, im even thinking about adding plants and rocks in there. norman (my turtle) even walks around it, the plastic half of it makes it so he's able to perch his little head up and see whatever he wants around him, so if youre expecting it to be closed in, it's not! i love that. it was really easy to set up, the instructions were clear. just be careful you dont accidentally break anything, it's pretty durable but i broke a small piece on accident. dont be clumsy like me haha. the only things i didnt like is this: -my turtle makes a bit of noise from his nails and his tummy from walking on it. but it's no problem, i would buy this product 1000x again! if you are expecting it to be silent, you might want to put a material on top that is quieter. -i wish the stairs were slanted differently because my turtle just slides down them like a slide and im not sure if he wants to go down that fast haha. AWESOME PRODUCT, 10/10!! IM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS, and my turtle thanks you as well! ... show more

This is great! I also bought the extender clips to fit the topper on a 75 gallon tank. I removed the screws from the extender clips and just jammed them on the sides; it’s pretty snug. Turtle loves the new setup with the tank full of water!
