I was impressed with the appearance and quality of this bird nest box. It comes pretty much assembled, you just have to adjust the outside camera position and it comes with several difference sized entrance holes you can easily swap out for what kind of birds you want to attract. It allows for very small to pretty large songbirds with a max 2" hole which I used since I'm going to try and attract Flycatchers to use it. The cameras are of nice quality and the test videos look good. The APP was easy to setup with my home WIFI network and get a live view of both cameras on my phone. I tested it on a simulated bird now I just need to get some real birds to nest in it. So it is solar powered and uses your own home WIFI network so there are no signal or power cables or wires to run and no recurring fees required, which is nice, unless you want to use their cloud, but I'm happy with downloading to my phone. It has some AI software to automatically capture moments of the nesting process from beginning to end, but won't be able to evaluate that till I get some birds in there. But you can be alerted as the birds come and go and capture some HD video yourself right to your phone. So I need to decide where to mount it permanently soon because if you want birds to find it it needs to be up several months before nesting season. I have my Birdfy camera feeder set up on a shepherds hook so I am so glad that they made a compatible solar panel charger so that I don’t need to mess with the metal clamps every 3-4 weeks or so! It works perfectly! It wasn’t charging when I first set it up but after speaking with the company’s live chat support they were able to help me troubleshoot and now it’s stayed charged ever since! ... show more

We have several birdfy products and enjoy them. We had received one product that was not working correctly, but the birdfy customer support resolved our problem. Some reviews have mentioned the dropping of the wifi connection and I think this might be related to 2.4Ghz vs 5Ghz. The birdfy products only support 2.4Ghz so you might have to restrict the preferred band to 2.4Ghz (this seemed to work for me). ... show more

I was so excited to get one of these. Actually this was my 2nd one! That being said, it wasn’t my 2nd one because I was thrilled with the first. The first one I bought, I bought from the Birdfy website. I have one of the bird feeders and it is fantastic!!!! However, I did not have the same experience with the nesting boxes. The first nesting box was easy to set up, but it would NOT stay online and it would NOT let me do the firmware update without it constantly crashing. I fiddled with it for two weeks and dealt with tech support via chat, email and on the phone. I tried EVERYTHING that they asked me to do including buying a micro disc adapter to use with my laptop do attempt the firmware update with a download the sent via email. That didn’t work either. I got shuffled around, being told that they were turning my case over to Tier 2 support. Long story short, I never got it working and tech support really didn’t have any more advice since we had exhausted every option to fix the bugs. That is when I asked for a refund. Communication pretty much stopped after that. I emailed several times asking how to begin the return process, and asked for a return shipping label. No response for days…….. I kept bugging them and continued getting the run around about tier 2 support. I said I was done messing with it and just wanted a refund. Still no acknowledgment on how to start that process. I was frustrated as I knew I had a 30 day window of time (per their refund policy) to be able to get my money back, so I finally made a public, disgruntled comment on their fb page. This is when I received a message via fb messenger from a rep who wanted to fix my problem. I had a refund the next day. He also did not make me return the nesting box. He made it right. I was happy that I had my money back but disappointed that my nesting box didn’t work. I decided to buy another, via Amazon due their easy return process. I received my 2nd nesting box excited in hopes of this one working. This box was a bit different from my first one. It had a better locking mechanism for the door and a more sturdier metal grill on the bottom where the birds build their nests. I was able to get in online easily. But again it prompted me to do a firmware update, ughhh. Again the box crashed except this time it would not turn back on at all. I tried resetting it, recharging it overnight, everything. It still wouldn’t turn back on. Again I reached back out to tech support with no luck. They again wanted to transfer me to Tier 2 support. I just told them no. I initiated the EASY refund request and sent it back to Amazon. I’m hopeful that I was just unlucky customer that received 2 janky boxes. I probably will try again down the road in hopes that the firmware problem is resolved. I’m totally jealous of everyone who didn’t have any issues and are watching the baby birds grow in their nesting boxes. I see you all on the Birdfy facebook page. Had a bit of trouble pairing - be sure phone isn't in dark mode. Pay attention to instructions on where to mount. Such fun watching the birds nest!

Waiting for first residents, but all signs point toward success with this nesting box! Product seems well made, two camera views are fantastic so I'll be able to see when birds are checking the place out, and the Birdfy app will put everything together for me into story form to see the journey from beginning to end! The instructions provided were clear and helpful, and I did my own research on where and how to place the nesting box for greatest chance of success.
