I know some dogs wont respond to these as I read before buying them, and some dogs may need more or less then the suggested amount to- but if you give this time and tweak the dosages, to see what works for your dog, Im telling you its so worth it! At first I gave it to our puppy as an aide with separation anxiety. But it didnt do to much for him at first. It was when I increased from 2 of them to 3, that it appeared he seemed calmer and happier. Quieter and less whiney. Then he started stressing alot on car rides to the point of throwing up- so about an hour before wed leave for a ride, boom, 3 of these and sooooo much more mellow!!! No more vomiting. Still fidgety but wayyyyy better. Then I tried it prior to his vet shot visits, before his baths and just random times when stress was higher and like candy now he gulps them down knowing he will be happy. Hes now almost five months, and he gets them four or five times a month for various situations and every single time they work like magic. Now hes teething pretty heavily and so Ive been giving him 2 in the morning after his breakfast and 2 after his dinner. They take the edge off his pain bigtime. These little wonderful chews have been a life saver for us in raising our puppy who is very high strung. I cant be happier and will keep them stocked. He was quite the handful in the first few months to say the least, but this product tamed and mellowed him into a more normal growing puppy who is much easier to work with. We love him so so much, and are so glad to have found something that works so awesome for our little furbaby. Just tweak and see what dose your dog will need because ours needed more to work. But once it kicked in- its like night and day in our dog. No bad stomach reactions at all. No side affects except being mellow and happy. Sometimes he will sleep on and off in a relaxed state but not lethargic by and means. Just mellow. Hes been on these for a few months now with great success. Our vet said alot of people use these products instead of medicating animals especially higher strung anxious dogs. She stated as long as you use them correctly and dont abuse them they are great. She loved the ingredients. I hope they work out great for everyone like they do for us. I keep them on hand where ever we need them. Our dog loves them. I used this 30 minutes to an hour before cutting my dogs' nails. I have 3 dogs. They all took and ate it quickly. However, all three were affected differently It worked VERY well for one dog, a 65lb Great Pyrenees x Lab mix. He was dazed, sloppy, slow, and lethargic, which was very unlike him. He also has separation anxiety, so I used it for that. It worked in calming him down sort of. He was still crying and barking, but he was doing it slowly. He also wasn't pacing as much. For my other two dogs, it did not work. My Corso was completely unaffected, but luckily she is nail trained, so she doesn't really need it. My Apbt x GShep mix, who is the worst of the three, was affected, but he overrode it once he saw the nail grinder and was back to stressing out. He still takes the treat but stays stressed because he has now made the connection between it and getting his nails cut. ... show more

I've used these cat treats for a few months for my two cats, both almost a year old. Even when I played with them and fed them dinner late they would still get the nighttime zoomies before bed or get up at some point in the night so I looked into some kind of calming cat treat for them to take before bed. I would say the treats do help calm them down for bedtime but both cats will not eat these treats on their own and don't seem to like the taste. I've had to dip the treats in wet food or smear a little of those lickable cat treats on them to get my cats to eat these treats. I give each cat one treat about 30 minutes to an hour before I want to go to bed and they sleep through most of the night. If they do get up in the middle of the night it's just to use the litterbox or get some water and then they usually settle back down until I get up in the morning. For two cats, one container lasts me about a month, maybe a little longer if I don't give them the treats every single night. EDIT/Update: I just purchased the hemp version of these treats and I will stick to them in the future. My kitties actually like the taste of the hemp ones and I just give one treat per cat with their last meal before bedtime and they willingly eat them. The hemp treats also slightly bigger than the regular melatonin ones and heart-shaped which I think just looks cute. ... show more
