I got this robot just yesterday afternoon but already set up and vacuumed and then meticulously mopped the entire main floor of my home (About 1650 square feet of hardwood with some low pile area rugs). Unpacking and setting up was a breeze, really. I have a Deco mesh WiFi router for my home that can connect at 2.4 or 5 ghz and I basically ignored the Narwal app warning that stated that I should set my router to connect only at 2.4 because I know the Deco router will automatically adjust to the device it is connecting to and connect at whatever frequency band the device is capable of. I connected first try and have had nothing but flawless connect performance since that time. The mapping process went smoothly and it took about 15 to 20 mins. Of course I first walked around and made sure that I got rid of anything on the floor that could snare the little robot, like cords and dog toys and floppy shopping bag handles (in the pantry). I also moved a couple of four legged stools temporarily just to give the little robot the best chance of flawless success because I knew that accurate mapping is key to the continued success of the cleanings. No biggie, i put the stools back after mapping was finished. After mapping, i perused the map and made a few minor changes: I renamed the rooms (from room1, room2 etc) to dining room, living room, etc. I merged two rooms into one and I also split a room into two rooms, (and renamed again) because the robot saw what I considered two rooms as only one contiguous space. You run into this nowadays because so many homes have large open floor plans where, for example the kitchen flows into the living room and dining room. I did this because I anticipated that it would help to have rooms split up like this because although they are part of one contiguous space, they differ vastly in the amount of traffic and dirt they get. Then i further edited the map details to tell (for each room) what the floor surface was and how meticulously i wanted that room cleaned, etc. I think this is an important step if you want the optimum results although it is probably not strictly required for you to do so. Then I sent the little robot off on its tasks and just watched. I had it vacuum the whole main floor first followed by a mopping (after a nightime recharge). I quickly realized that the little robot did not need my supervision and went about my own business only checking in on it a few times an hour. I also checked and changed the dirty water and refilled the clean water once during the mopping of what was about 1600 sq feet. The water was filthy looking and the floors look great. From this point on I will set a vacuum and mopping weekly schedule and I trust that the floors will be clean without the tedious work of mopping and vacuuming myself. Love it! This robot vacuum/mop is a breath of fresh air. It works incredibly well. It has an impressive 8200 Pascals of suction, and the Newtons of force the mops exert are adequate to remove stains and liquids. I couldn’t be happier. It maps like a dream with LIDAR, and then knows exactly where it’s at and where it’s going. It cleans in an intelligent order when you start it after mapping. It was very easy to set up. I would avoid the reviews where people had trouble with it. If you know how to turn on a computer and set up your WiFi passcode, this thing will be a dream. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more. Other then the poor App interface that is VERY hard to work with. This device is fantastic! It takes some time to figure out how to make it do what you want it to do, but, once you get it working it absolutely does what it is intended to do. I have over 1,000 Sqft of laminate flooring in the main entrance areas, and with 2 kids my floors are always filthy. Once I got this working properly through the app I could not be happier. Absolutely this is the best thing that I have ever spent a ton of money on that paid off. It saves me hours of cleaning time, time that I can be doing other chores on. ... show more

I am so disappointed. I received my Narwal and went to work setting it up. Downloaded the app, and it went downhill from there. Robot was never able to sync up. I read the other reviews, tried the work around suggested there and nothing. Contacted Narwal, had a 10 minute conversation doing the same things suggested by other purchasers. They then "escalated" my issue. Sent them all of the information they requested including a video of it doing nothing. 24 hours later, was told to remove the mopping module and try again, nothing. Waited another 2 days and was told to uninstall everything on my phone, restart my phone, reset the Robot, and start over. Nothing. You would think with a price nearing $2000, things would work straight out of the box. I can understand having to do things slightly different to get it to work, but this goes way beyond that. There isn't even an option to run it without connecting it to the app. ... show more

I’ve tried robotic vacuums for years, mostly iRobot Rumba but always have been a little frustrated with the inability to get a space really clean and how loud the sound was. Norwal has fixed all that. It’s quiet, vacuums and mops at night while I sleep. In the morning, once a week I empty the dirty water. The mopping is spinning disks, not a dragging wet pad, so it really cleans. The spacial awareness is great. Support helped set it up as my iPhone settings were off, but all went well. I love my Freo X Ultra Robot. At first I was a little skeptical because I experienced some issues with trying to pair the device with the phone application, but customer service was very responsive and helpful. I love their the application allows you to see where it is, so you do not have to worry about it getting lost(my other robot vac would get into spaces and get stuck). It really does avoid the hitting obstacles, so I do not have to worry about it dinging up my furniture. It does a great job with vacuum and mopping the floor. ... show more

Overall the vacuum has been great. Easy setup and works very well. I have two floors, and rather than moving the vacuum up and down, I decided it would be easier and way more convenient to have two of them! I love how they clean their own mops and how I can choose to do individual rooms, the entire floor, or just a specific section when we spill some stuff in the kitchen!
