🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Shark Vacuum cleaner has garnered positive reviews from users who appreciate its efficiency in cleaning small to medium spaces effectively, the emphasis being on its ability to handle various surfaces with ease and maintain consistent suction power. Users were particularly impressed by the vacuum's design which incorporates smart features and its surprising durability for a mostly plastic build. It's very easy to assemble and its performance rivals larger, conventional vacuums.

Pros

  • 🌟 Exceptional cleaning performance on multiple surfaces
  • 🌟 Consistent and strong suction power
  • 🌟 Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • 🌟 Handy features such as LED lights and a switch for different floor types
  • 🌟 Surprisingly durable given its largely plastic construction

Cons

  • 🚫 Top-heavy design can make it unstable when not in use
  • 🚫 Ineffective cleaning on the sides of stairs
  • 🚫 Storage hook for wall mounting is not included and must be purchased separately

Should I Buy It?

Yes, the Shark Vacuum is a fantastic investment for those seeking a highly portable, versatile, easy-to-assemble vacuum with good performance and consistent suction power. It is best suited for small to medium spaces and handles multiple surfaces impressively. While it has minor flaws, its pros far outweigh its cons.

  • I'm reviewing a vacuum....
Color: Bordeaux/Silver Style: Pet Multi-Tool
We have one very sweet little cat that seems to lose it's weight in hair every month - it's everywhere. Not to mention kitty litter and dried up bits of food that coat the floors in all of the rooms week upon week... I've only ever had $60-80 vacuums and with all of the trouble they have caused with clogged filters, lack of power and loss of suction, I decided to invest in this Shark and I have to say, it's a darn good vacuum. When I'm using this thing, I believe I actually have a look on my face similar to the woman in the pictures - like we're content to vacuum all day long and possibly for a living. It truly is a joy to use - very lightweight but still has some heft in the main motor unit so you can tell it is built well. And it is powerful - I haven't kept up with the technological advances in home vacuums and haven't done the tests with nuts, bolts, marbles or a bowling ball - but it does hurt when you get it stuck to your face - FYI. All of the attachments connect to the unit with a satisfying click and are effortlessly removed. The carpet sweeper unit helps propel itself forward on even the thicker carpets which is a treat because the older cheapo units would get stuck in some areas. Maneuverability and getting under low clearance objects is now done with total ease. The hardwood floor attachment with the terrycloth pad that wipes while moving it across the floor works well too. And though the dual lights on the carpet sweeper and the one on the main unit look really cool (like Audi supplied headlights for this thing), I was surprised to find that they actually light up the carpet/floor and work very well in spotting areas you may have missed. The smaller upholstery sweeper is my favorite attachment and after using it on two of my sofas, I was amazed (and then equally appalled) at how much dirt and hair was deposited into the bin. And the bin is small - like others reviewers stated, I had to empty it 3-4 times after doing the whole place on the first use. However, like a lot of them said, that was just the first time going through what I previously presumed to be my clean apartment. The next week yielded far less and I only had to empty twice (and that's because I leave the bin clean for the next use to gauge how dirty things get over the week). It's a cinch to empty and clean - unlike the last Hoover I owned...I don't want to talk about that. The other truly wonderful thing about this vacuum and my main reason for buying it is it's small footprint. It's not designed to stand upright on it's own but if you live in a 1 bedroom apartment with valuable limited closet space and a girlfriend/wife that wants all that limited space to herself for her "stuff", you don't want a vacuum taking up space where your Taylormade's clearly fit and absolutely belong. A plastic wall/door mount hook comes in the box and I now have it mounted on the wall close to the ceiling inside my precious tool closet where it fits perfectly and is totally out of the way of anything else stuffed in there, the bag of attachments hanging right next to it. The only slightly annoying part is cord management (and I say this coming from a vacuum that had a retractable cord so don't take it too seriously unless you currently have one with that option and have gotten used to the bliss of not having to wrap and then unwrap when you are told you missed an area that needs cleaning). There is a cord hook on the main unit and then a hook on the carpet sweeper and the floor sweeper. If you have the cord wrapped around the hooks on the unit and either of those attachments, you cannot remove that attachment from the extension pole without unwrapping the cord completely. It's a small hassle and easily remedied by just wrapping the cord around the main unit handle and dust bin instead of using the hooks. That way, you can interchange and store the way you want without fussing with the cord first. As you can tell, I'm not getting technical on this review - I don't know much about vacuums because they aren't my thing and it took some deep reasoning and soul searching for me to pull the trigger on a $250 (with tax) dirt sucking machine - I was simultaneously looking at any other FUN electronic item for the same amount before I clicked buy. But, all-in-all, I'm happy with the choice and thanks to all the reviewers who helped me make it. If you're living with someone who has de facto control over all of the storage space in a 1 bedroom apartment with 4 small closets but only 1.5 you can call yours and everything of communal use has to go in your closet exclusively, this is the vacuum for you. If you have more space to work with and call your own, good for you - very happy for you. You will like the vacuum too. ... show more

  • Highly impressed so far
Color: Bordeaux/Silver Style: Pet Multi-Tool
I was hesitant to get another shark vacuum after my last one (lift off) died out after only 2 years. But I gave it a try based on reviews and so far am not disappointed. I have carpet, hardwood, and carpet stairs and this vacuum does wonders on all of it. It's easier for me to vacuum the stairs with the different attachments and ways to use it. I like that there is a way to store the vacuum with a hook on the vacuum itself so you don't have to mount a hook if you don't want to. And it's easy to attach it and go. The suction is impressive and really cleans the carpet well and the brush attachment helps get pet fur up well on stairs. It was easy to put together and the cord seems like a decent length. If I were to have to come up with things I didn't like or areas of improvement to make this vacuum better I would say it is a bit loud which is to be expected with how well the suction is and the other thing is that the vacuum fully put together is rather tall for a short person. Also it would be nice if it could stand up on its own without being in two pieces. But those are trivial complaints as I am still very satisfied with my purchase so far. Will update if anything changes. ... show more

  • Good but not great vacuum
Color: Bordeaux/Silver Style: Pet Multi-Tool
First, the good: The vacuum works well. Even though it's pretty small, it cleans effectively (better than the Kenmore upright it replaced, in fact). In addition, it's light and easy to maneuver, the swivel head can get into fairly tight spaces, and it's nice not having to replace bags. The not so good: This thing was obviously made to a cost. The cord is short and the dirt cup is quite small. If you have a big home, you'll be changing outlets frequently and probably have to empty the cup two or more times if you vacuum more than three rooms. Moreover, there are only two included attachments - neither an extension hose - and you have to buy others separately. (The attachments from our old upright aren't compatible.) All in all, assuming this thing doesn't conk out anytime soon, I'd buy it again. It's not perfect but hasn't disappointed me either. ... show more
