Assembly: this is the worse part! The screws are so small and they are easy to lose. There are no extra. It was very difficult to put together. You need 2 people. The media could not be loaded. Our room is always cold in the winter months and regardless of how high we turn our heat up, the bedroom is always about 7 or 8 degrees colder than the downstairs. We were looking for a way to help warm the room up right before bed each night and were excited to find this fireplace at such an affordable price. It took two people to install but was up and running within the hour. It warmed up the room very well and even came with a thermostat so you can decide how warm you want the room to be. There are several color choices for the "flames", etc. We like that the heat comes out of the bottom because we chose to hang it above the bed and the warm air hits us while we sleep. I am about to order a second one for the guest room across the hall. We are so happy with this fireplace! I highly recommend it and that is not something I say too often because I can be a bit of a curmudgeon. :) ... show more

    • Disappointed.
I bought this in January, used it twice. Now that it's getting cold, I tried to use it, and it has a mind of it's own. Turns itself on and off by itself, changes temperature by itself and the panel on the side doesn't work. The remote works once or twice every 10 times I push buttons. I was hoping it would last longer than 2 uses, but I guess not. Kinda sad for a $200 fireplace. ... show more

    • No screws included. No instructions included.
I opened up the box. Took everything out. Looked thru the parts. No screws were included and so it is impossible to assemble. I can see an area in the styrofoam where there may have been screws packed... but alas it was empty. Emailed the manufacturer, but received no reply. I am disabled so it’s hard for me to pack it all up and return it. Disappointed to say the least and will have to find help to get it returned. ... show more

This was a gift. Its looks very nice. It heats the room really well. The room went from the coldest to the warmest room in the house and its a big room. I do keep the door shut to keep the heat in. It was a gift and they love it. And they are hard to buy for. Didn't even complain about having to assemble it. Must have been fairly easy. A+ in my book. ... show more

My husband he’s not a handyman at all and says I’m not allowed to buy things he has to put together but he literally did this in10 minutes.. you can also change out for rocks or the stones or the firewood.. Cons: only one heat setting, 1400 Watts. Thermostat is inconsistent. Room is cold and thermostat has heater off. Room warm and thermostat has heater on. Much more like a timer then thermostat. Pros: Most realistic fake fire of any models I looked at. Heat vent is on bottom which is great if you have a TV above it. Would give it three and half stars.
