    • Oscillating noise

For the most part I'm happy with this unit's performance. However, when it oscillates, the right side (facing the unit) is smooth and noiseless. The left side makes a constant mechanical noise at about the transition point. It's not terribly loud, but it's a bit annoying as I have the unit on while drinking coffee and reading the newspaper on my laptop in the morning. I purchased this unit Jan 31 and today is Feb 18. Another minor point, the remote has some sort of clear plastic covering over the controls. The power button already shows bubbles under the clear plastic where it seems to have started to separate. I hope the remote holds up over time but I question its durability. I might expect these issues after a year or two but not after 19 days of usage. One last thing, the 22" unit I have has a 1500w setting on high and 1000w on low, whereas the 30" unit is 1500w and 800w which seems like a better differential. However, I didn't want a 30" tower and it is almost twice the price of the 22" unit. Update 2/26/23. The remote control quit working. Unable to contact seller and Amazon will let me return it for a refund but that isn't what I'd like to do. Not sure if replacing the battery (one of those quarter shaped type) would work. So I guess I'll just get by without a working remote, as otherwise I'm still pleased with it's performance. Hopefully it doesn't succumb to the same fate as the remote control. ... show more
