This is supposed to be like another pedal. I have never played the other pedal. But the sound quality is definitely on par with that brand. It sounds great. If you don't like this pedal, you won't like bb. It can be used into a clean amp or another dirt. Into a clean amp, it has that sound of drive blended with clean that is the style of some pedals. So there is always some smoothness even at high gain levels. It sounds sparkly and warm, and the controls have good range. You can boost lows to avoid the typical TS low end dropout. The clean-dirt blend quality makes it fantastic for boosting another distorted sound. I ran it into my favorite rat clone and it sounded like the gain channel on a much more expensive amp. This is its best use in my mind. Much thicker and warmer than a TS. I am admittedly not the biggest fan of using it into a clean amp. It is a little too pointy and smooth for me. I prefer BD type sound. But that is just personal taste. Not due to any lack of quality in the pedal. What you are saving money on when you buy this pedal is some kind of wiring problem. It gets finicky as you unplug it or plug it in and it could cause problems for your other pedals. I have read that these lack a certain grounding wire and you have to make sure you plug in power before you plug in the input cable. So I wouldn't recommend this pedal to any professionals, because of that. Just to people like me who want to cut corners and save money, or want to see if it is worth investing in a real BB. We all know what it’s supposed to copy so I’ll just say it. Fulltone OCD. So does it get close? Sort of. It’s definitely an overdrive. For the price it’s ok. The second time I operated the pedal the little button shot off and disappeared. The pedal also squeals when the input is unplugged, which is weird. It doesn’t shut off with lack of input as does every other pedal I’ve ever owned. ... show more

Fantastic clone of the Xotic BB Preamp (bluesbreaker) overdrive pedal. Perfectly captures that bluesbreaker circuit with plenty of drive, compression, and sustain if you turn up the drive knob. I deliberately purchased this pedal because it is half the size of the one it emulates. I own both the original and this version, and they are almost indistinguishable. I do have to make slight adjustments on the knobs, but I get the tone I am after.

Well made clone of the BBpreamp. I wanted a smaller format pedal that gave me the delicious low grind crunch of my BBpreamp and decided to give this one a shot. I had previously tried the Caline Orange Boost which I liked quite a bit too but wasn’t small enough for my new portable board. This has the same tone for a lot less money than the original. Well made, hard to go wrong here. If you like your overdrive with long lasting sustain but low crunchiness this is your pedal. If you tried a blues driver and it wasn’t for you give this a shot. ... show more
