I saw a number of the reviews that were not positive. I'm using the tarp to cover an old desk that I have positioned on a Knoll in the woods that I use as my "al fresco" work desk. So far it keeps out all water, have metal tent stakes that I use to hold in place through the grommets and even in some serious wind storms it has held fast no damage to the tarp. This sits in a very wooded area so can't say if constant sun creates any issues . ... show more

I bought one 2 years ago and it was a damn good tarp so why not buy another one. Well the second one I just recently bought definitely not as heavy duty. It seems to be a thinner material compared to the first one I bought. When tying it down an eyelet ripped out with barely putting any tension on it. I bought this tarp to cover some gear year round through harsh and extremely wet Northwest winters and spring, and sunny and hot summers. I was looking for a tarp that could withstand the elements without breaking down from the sun or shredding in the wind and rain. This is a great tarp for that. It is very thick and durable. The grommets are strong. And I love that the tarp is green so it blends in with nature rather than standing out like a sore thumb like the blue tarps do.
