  • Sound indeed better than Digitech
I play Bass in a cover band where too often we need to transpose one or two steps down, cause the singers do not reach the heights of the originals. I already changed to a 5-string, but still, it's very messy to transpose it all on the fly, and often you need those open strings, to get it grooving. So I surely appreciate a device which does the pitch shift for me. I tried the Digitech Drop once which costs more than double, but it influences my bass-tone in a way I could not tolerate, so I had to send it back immediately. Then I stumbled upon the Mooer and thought, can it be better for such a low price? And indeed, it can! You should put it in front of any other effects and then the sound with a pitched signal (for the most I do only -1 and -2) is really good. For a well-trained ear, there is a little latency, but I absolutely can live with it. Since it’s so cheap I really appreciate the sound but if you have any sense of timing the latency would be hard to handle! ... show more

  • Mooer does it again.
I play bass in a band that uses drop tuning by 1/2 step and full step for some songs. I will use two of these set for each. A little hiss when engaged, but that won’t cause a big problem live. I also have a noise suppressor that helps. No noticeable latency and tone only warbles a tiny bit. Again, we play rock music, so that won’t be heard through the mid. Replaced my “Drop” pedal with two of these. Half the space, half the cost, and just as clear sounding. I don’t recommend for studio work (just drop tune the bass for that). ... show more

  • Great build. Do the task. but no -4. WTF ?
BUILD: Surpassed my expectations based on the price I expected to have flaws on construction, any, at least one!. But no! no flaws! The footswitch feels like any other US$80 to US$200 pedal. The white knob feels sturdy and well placed (no tight or loosen) as you circle it. The little mode selector works good as well. No issues with the DC 9v power jack. It is not as light as you would expect for it's size being compact pedal. SOUND: You get what you pay! It make it's task and it makes it good. It is not the best but not the worst either. As you go down on tuning you may feel blurriness, what this happens with almost all pedals. Yo do not get to feel the latency, there should be since it is never 0, you always will have latency for this pedals but you do not get to feel it! I would prefer Digitech Drop but for the a quarter of it's price you get Mooer and it works, at least for rehearsal with your band and solo practicing. .. BUT: WHY THE HELL DID THEY REMOVED THE -4 ??? I do not get it. Was it due to detune algorithm flaw ? and the best part is Mooer (not included on the user's manual) or Youtube review did not mention this and this should be sort of a disclaimer for all buyers to be aware of. How on earth you build a detuning pedal but you do not include 2 tones down ? but you do 3, 4 or even the hole octave ! There are a lot of songs C tuned. I guess I will have to buy Digitech drop as well because this is a major flaw for those who plays different styles of music/genre and need to drop down to C just as any other tune . . ... show more

  • Minimal latency
I had bought another pitch shifter pedal that was a little bit less money but looked exactly the same. It was completely unusable due to Long latency. Someone who reviewed that pedal mentioned this one as one that did not have that problem. Even though it looks pretty much exactly the same it's obviously different inside because my experience matched that reviewer. I'm sure there is some slight measurable amount of latency, but it did not affect my playing in any way. This is a really great pedal for the money. By the way I am using it as a pitch drop on an electric bass. ... show more

  • Works, but with some caveats …
I’ve been looking for a pedal like this for a while. I currently use a Digitech Drop, but I’d like something that can go up in pitch. I received the pedal today and gave it a run-through. Here are my thoughts … The Good: 1) Very inexpensive for what it does. 2) Lots of interval options. 3) Three different modes to pick from. 4) Small pedalboard footprint. The Bad: 1) Definite hiss when active. Not a showstopper, but noticeable. 2) Audible digital artifacts even when you’re only one interval from the input signal. Again, not horrific, but noticeable. 3) Detectable latency. It’s right on the edge of being recognizable but it’s definitely there. Not so bad it’s unusable but could definitely be annoying. It’s too bad because this pedal is *almost* there. With a little higher quality DSP they might have had a runaway hit on their hands. As it is, it’s usable in a pinch but it’s no replacement for my Drop pedal. ... show more

  • EVH 5150 tone in a stomp box
Pretty good for approximating that Eddie Van Halen 5150 tone on the cheap. I’m not looking to drop tons of money on an eventide rack mount unit, or run a wet-dry-wet signal… just need a simple approximation and this does that quite well for just a few bucks. I’ve only had it about a week. Sounded pretty good at home. Got to play it live with the band today and it sounded good as well. I believe I will be keeping it and adding it to my board. I only use the detune function with the knob set at -2 for the EVH sounds. Other functions of this pedal are more or less useless to me. But that’s okay. I bought this pedal for just the one setting. ... show more

  • Updated....Great support and sent a new one
Update: Great conversation with their Support team. They sent me a new one, quickly. Not bad for a product at that price. BTW, if you haven't tried their Black Magic (Rat clone) you're missing out. Old Review... It stopped working a month after the return window closed. So I'm stuck with a pedal that doesn't work and a lighter wallet. ... show more

  • Surprised then dissapointed!
Update: After 3 months the unit failed. This is the 2nd Moer product I purchased that failed withing 3 months. The foot switch failed on the first. This one just stopped working. They offered me a refund on my first purchase if I could prove it was broken but I had thrown is away. I will never buy another of their products. Complete trash. Works well with minimal latency to my ears. I use this instead of tuning down. Lettering is a little hard to read. ... show more
