I really like the way this thermostat is laid out and how it functions. I purchased it to use in our game room/home theater. It allows me to easily check the temperature in the house and change it as required remotely. I like that it can be changed to a schedule when the house is occupied and a static temperature when it's unoccupied. Another plus is compatible with Conventional (2H/2C); Heat Pump (4H/2C); Supports natural gas, electric, hot water, steam or gravity, gas fireplaces (24 Volts), oil heat sources; heat pump, dual fuel. Easy to install, very simplistic, easy to schedule. Was initially concerned about the lack of a "C" wire, but checked furnace and there was a 5th wire not connected.. too easy, connect to furnace "C" and thermostat "C" ... done... Device connected to our wireless and app works fine with Tuya Smart app. Overall easy set up in app and app makes thing very simple to use and control. Install took my husband about 15 minutes. Bought this recently to replace old thermostat in one unit. I have nest for self but wanted to give this a shot as sometime nest goes out and need to reconnect to app. Overall it was good, installation could be easier if they had push mechanism as in Nest etc but other than that it came with stuff require for installation. I already had C wire so didn't need to install additional attachment, over all it was easy. Need to see how long this last, my Nest units are working without any issues for many years so I hope this is equivalent . this works with google apps so which is good. ... show more

This is really an early review. I will update in a few weeks. Just got it working today (11/22). While I like the device and it seems to work as described, it was needlessly hard to get setup. While I may be a "senior citizen", I worked in technology all my life and probably have no less then 6 computers in my home. I usually can figure out about any computer connected "thing". Made needlessly difficult by the extremely small book of instructions also. Magnifying glass did little to help. Hey, get a website and give us a PDF to look at so we can blow it up. I finally had to scan the book and do that in order to see the thing. So on my 1st try on Saturday (using their book), I was unable to get it working after a couple of hours. So today once I could see the instructions I was able to get it hooked up properly. Took me about 30 minutes just to get hardware setup and working manually. Fortunately I had an extra 5th wire which made it easy. Also made difficult because the device uses 2.4g WiFi network and most people use 5.4g on their phones. Took awhile to figure out the phone had to be in 2.4g mode to setup. Then was easily attached to Alexa, which works great. So I have great expectations and I will update in a few days or weeks. Looking forward to changing temperature from my easy chair or while away from home. I did a lot of research before I picked this model. I hope I will still be happy in a few days or weeks. What an incredible piece of junk interface. This is a cheaply made with plastic and not as cool as in the photos. Instructions are not complete and requires further research on the internet. If you don’t know anything about thermostats buy something else as they don’t make it easy. The interface is pretty rough and buggy. It didn’t work for several days and my house was very cold. Almost put my old one back. Lots of better options there. Cheaper too. Not recommended ... show more

I had a small bit of trouble with the instructions. This was more user error not how they were written. I love the Alexa feature. I can adjust it hands free! It is amazing.

    • Easy install, looks nice, but temperature control failed within a couple days.
Nice design, simple interface. Unfortunately it failed after a couple of days. Temperature was jumping all over from 70’s to 90’s with it even going to 129 one time. The screen would not goto sleep anymore either. After multiple factory resets without success I decided to return this item. (Update) The company reached out to me personally to apologize about this product and what they believe was most likely defective about my device. So for that I’m raising my rating for going out their way to talk to me even though I never reached out to them. ... show more
