I was not dismayed by a few negative reviews & decided to give this product a try. So glad I did! The instructions & video are not perfect per se but they're enough in order to put this lid together. It took me about 15 minutes to install it & I even had to configure it in order to set the filter in place. The tank now has a clean finished look. I would definitely recommend this product! Absolutely terrible product. First of all, the video instructions are in Chinese, and were not helpful. The entire product comes in several pieces, mostly cheap, and it was such a pain to put it all together that I eventually just gave up. I want my money back.

I like this better than the metal top I was using before since it kept rusting. I like that the heat lamp does not make it hot. Now putting it together was another story. My husband had to help me with this since I had to go over a chord and the supports for the plexiglass sunning spot. It was hard to get the top to snap into the bottom. I still do not have the back right corner snapped in all the way. It's still the best alternative I've found for my oddly shaped tank. Trying to get a custom top made for it was way to expensive so I'm happy with this. ... show more

I was honestly pretty worried this wasn't going to work well but it's great! My tank didn't come with a lid and there were no lids out there that were the correct size, so I got this to make the custom size. It looks great and can hold up my heating lamp.

It's difficult to assemble, and the instructional video is in chinese. Once I did manage to assemble it, it falls apart when I try to lift it up off the tank. The lid part thats supposed to lift up is the mesh sandwiched between a magnetic strip and plastic strip. These are supposed to snap together to keep the mesh in place but every time I lift it up to feed my fish the two layers fall apart, the mesh falls out, and I have to snap them back together. It does provide more coverage than the glass top I was using previously, but it's such a pain to use. ... show more

This was a pain to assemble. The instructions are not clear and the online video was somewhat helpful but when you get to installing the corners the video speeds up and you cannot tell how they are installing the corners. The instructions have a QR code you can scan to get help but the English side QR didn't work, the one for another language on the other side had a QR that did work and takes you to a video. If you order this study how it is assembled before doing so. I would rather buy something like this already assembled. I don't care for the netting as I use a sunlamp for our reptiles and I prefer metal when using heat lamps. This net is made of some type of PVC material. The two clips eventually fall off. The magnetic strips are strong and hold the cover in place. The benefit of this is that you can cut the netting so you can fit it around something that needs to hang from the top of your tank. It is installed on my 15-gallon turtle tank but eventually, I will find the tank lid with the metal netting I prefer. ... show more

    • Difficult and falls apart
The concept is cool but it felt more like i was fighting throughout every step. The two parts holding the mesh together aren’t secure enough to stay together and continue to fall apart. The corners are super difficult to put together and snapping them in place was practically impossible. For $18 I would not say it was worth an arm work out and a pain in my butt. ... show more
