One gripe is I want the lid to tilt back so I don’t have to place it somewhere or hold it, but that’s really minor. My betta doesn’t have an issue with the current, but he’s a strong swimmer and short tailed. The filter is very nice, but I found the lighting confusing. The remote is weird. After dealing with multiple issues with BiOrb on Amazon, our School at a University decided to go a different route and try the Fluval Flex. It was not a disappointment at all. This is a very spacious and gorgeous tank that was easy to assemble and gorgeous to look at. Admittedly, I did have trouble with the remote to the fish tank light, but that's on me and not the tank (the sensor is at the top so you have to point at it which I wasn't doing). It's really fun to be able to change the colors and dim or brighten them. Very quiet and so far our fish are enjoying the added space. Incoming guests as well as the college students love coming in and watching the fish. Thank you Fluval for being wonderful (and for not being BiOrb)! ... show more

I really like this tank! I was looking for a nice small tank for a planted aquarium. The bow on the front really makes the tank unique and adds a sharp expensive look to the tank. The quality of the glass is nice and the black beading on the back wall and the top rim of the tank really helps clean things up. It nicely hides all the equipment and pumps in the bank and give a nice look to the waterline. The light fixture came DOA, but the seller quickly replaced it and it is now working great. The light is bright and provides a lot of custom options. It may not be the strongest light for a planted tank, but sure looks like it will be more than enough for the plants I am growing. The real compartments are large enough for your own mix of equipment and filter media. The grates on the intakes are a nice touch and will keep small fry or shrimp out of the rear compartments. I added some small filter material inside these grates to further decrease the chance of fry or shrimp entering. The pump is quite strong and is completely silent. I cannot hear it run at all. The tank sits next to my bed and you wouldn't think it was even running. The tank also came with a nice mat for the bottom glass. Overall I am extremely happy with the tank. Ignore the bad or misleading reviews. Perfect planted tank. Great quality and a great price point. Thanks! ... show more

Ive had my tank almost a year now and its been great! The internal built in filter is low maintenance (rinse the medium now and then). It keeps my tank nice and clean looking and is very quiet. Ive never had any water parameter difficulties. I use black sand as a substrate and the filter has never picked up particles. Its very well made and looks/feels luxurious. I do need to take a star off because the built in lights started malfunctioning after about 6 months. It constantly flashes dark blue lights at random when lights are switched off. Ive tried every setting and unplugging, but nothing stops the lights except turning the lights on intentionally. It doesnt impact functionality at all and I have gotten use to it, but I do worry about the longevity of the LEDs with blue lights always flashing for no reason. ... show more
