  • Can't beat this for the price!
Color: Red
I own quite a few cameras, most of them SLRs. I wanted a bridge camera that is lighter and easier to carry while traveling. This one fits the bill just right. It's compact, full of features, and gives you some creative control by not making everything automatic. The lens is amazing and the zoom is pretty impressive. One of the features I like the most is the "Smart Lens Ring", it's brilliant! One thing that was disappointing was that it did not come with a battery charger. That is a nuisance because you have to charge the battery by plugging in the camera. That, however, was easily solved by buying an extra battery and charger for $20.00. All in all an excellent product. And half the price than comparable Canon alternatives. ... show more

  • Great for the price I suppose
Color: Black
It was time to replace my very old DSLR Sony camera so, I started doing my research. In short order, I came up with the Minolta MN67Z. The pro reviews were very good and the user reviews were mixed but overall good. The specs and feature list was impressive to say the least. Obviously far beyond my old camera. So, I purchased one and started playing. After a week, this what I’ve found. All the pros touted the AUTO mode but I must say that this camera’s true talents come out when you get AWAY from the AUTO mode. Don’t get me wrong, the camera takes great shots in AUTO mode as long as you have plenty of light. Unfortunately, when light is low, picture quality drops quickly. Select one of the manual modes and you will be rewarded. One of my biggest gripes about this camera is the auto focus. In AUTO mode, you’re stuck with terrible auto focus, which often leads to blurry pictures. Especially in low light. In any of the manual modes, you get to choose from different auto focus version. I like the pinpoint one best, and it rewards with very sharp pictures even in low light. Another issue I had to get used to is that “real” cameras like this generally take worse pictures than your cellphone does. My phone takes amazing pictures and in most situations, I’ll be using it instead of the “real” Minolta. ... show more

  • Camera is kinda OK but no support
Color: Purple
I have not tried all the settings yet. So far would rate this OK. Primarily bought for the long zoom and price. Zoom is nice must say, but if use video on long zoom, camera keeps trying to find focus?? Called support but they are worse than useless. Camera has a learning curve that is a bit steeper than I hoped. My last long zoom point and shoot was a Nikon. I had some questions and surprised to learn best way to ask was email, no chat available, but support is really poor. Some menu items kinda strange. There is not a setting for how long you would like it to stay on, 5min is max. Time is only in 24hour mode. LCD brightness dims automatically after about 15sec if you do not actively change a setting, so if just observing your scene, the screen will get dark, to the point you cannot see anything. Support never got back to me on this issue. Auto face detection default is on, and cannot permanently change this, I have to turn this off every time the camera boots up. So far it seems it does take decent photos, and the WiFi connection is OK. I mainly use shutter speed priority mode, and camera does not always get the exposure correct. Could be I need to get used to this and adjust, but other cameras I had never had an issue. I will likely keep this camera, but next time will spend a bit more and get a Nikon or Canon. So far no issues with battery or transferring photos to my computer. would recommend to avoid this camera. ... show more

  • Pretty good for someone who doesn't know what they are doing
Color: Red
I love that I can take professional-looking photos even though I have no clue what I'm doing. As long as the thing I'm taking a picture of isn't moving, the pictures are fantastic. I took some amazing pictures of hummingbirds and butterflies. However, the autofocus for moving things stinks. It doesn't focus at all so I just end up with a bunch of blurry photos. I'm thinking about using the video and just selecting a frame for the picture instead to see if that works better. Also, the battery doesn't hold a charge at all. I charge it up, and an hour later, the charge is gone, even if I don't use it. I'm going to try buying a new battery. It has a lot of great settings too. I'll have to sit down and work with it a bit to learn everything, but in the end, I'm very happy with this camera. ... show more
