First impressions count. Upon opening the tool box the first thing I saw was a pair of white gloves neatly placed on top of the little chain saw. I got the impression the company that made it took some pride in the way they present themselves. I inserted one of the two batteries and the motor spun the cutting chain smoothly. I didn't run it very long because it needed some oil on the cutting bar but it didn't come with any so I had to go to my workshop to get the oil. There is no built in reservoir for the oil, so it needs occasional oil squirted on the bar to prevent overheating. My first tryout was cutting a 6 inch thick branch off of a tree. I have a very large yard with a lot of trees and bushes that need nearly constant tending and pruning. In addition to the pruning, I get a fair amount of "windfall" anytime the breeze kicks up. In the past, I've tended to use hand saws and, on occasion, run a long electrical drop cord to help speed up the job of pruning and yard cleanup. After seeing this little saw, I had to give it a try. As soon as it arrived, I charged the two batteries it came with and added a couple of drops of oil to the chain and the bar. I took it out to an overgrown corner of my yard that's hard to reach with an electrical cord and had 15 good-sized limbs neatly pruned in about as many minutes. Super fast, effective, light weight, and easy to use. No noticeable drop in the battery capacity either, which was impressive. It has all the power it needs to chew through anything I used it with, even some hardwoods. It wasn't as effective on dry limbs as it was on green, but that's normal. The only problem I encountered was that this little saw can get tightly (impossibly) bound in a limb you're attempting to drop if you aren't very careful. This happened to me when I reached overhead to prune a branch I could barely reach. The problem was the angle of the chainsaw blade was vertical, not horizontal to the branch. Obviously, this was not the fault of this little saw. It would have happened with any saw in the same circumstances. Just take note that saws work best cutting from the top down, held horizontally, so the branch can freely drop out of the way and not bind the saw blade. I later used the saw for quickly dismembering all the branches I'd just cut as I loaded them into my pickup. The whole process was quick and easy and I felt completely safe and in full control of this little saw at all times while using it. (Keep your wits about you when using any power tool, especially ones that can quickly hurt you AS QUICKLY AND SERIOUSLY as a mini-chainsaw can!) That said, I didn't notice any tendency for this saw to "kick back" away from a cut as many chainsaws are known to do. Still, I do my cutting well out of reach of my face, legs, and my other hand because accidents with chainsaws are serious and potentially deadly, even this little guy. Final thoughts are that I really love this little tool. It does require ongoing (somewhat frequent) chain tightening, so this is a potential area of improvement that could be made in the design. However, as convenient, handy, portable, and helpful as it's been for me, that can hardly rate as a complaint about it. This cordless mini-chainsaw is suitable for cutting branches between 3/4” diameter and 3” diameter, and is a great complement to a set of power trimming shears for smaller branches (under 1” diameter). The blade is 5.5” long, making the advertisement that it can cut 6” diameter logs ridiculous, but it makes quick work of smaller stuff. This mini-chainsaw is packaged in a lightweight (flimsy but OK) case with two 21V batteries, a recharger, a spare chain, tools, safety glasses, lightweight gloves, and a manual. The charger has an LED that goes from red when charging to green when fully charged. The plug from the charger to the batteries round like that if a laptop instead of a shoe like most rechargeable batteries, which is odd. Charging time is fast though, which is appreciated. The mini-chainsaw made quick work of 1” - 2” live branches and saplings, and suspect it could readily cut branches up to 3” in diameter. The cutting speed was fast, and much faster than a cordless reciprocating saw with a landscaping blade. This cordless tool will definitely be an upgrade over my reciprocating saw in the back yard or cutting smaller logs for my fire pit! Small vines and branches can get caught in the blade guard near the drive spindle, but stopping the saw then running it without a branch cleans it our well. I did not have to remove the guard to remove any debris. One quirk is the safety switch (button) on the handle, which is positioned to be pushed by your thumb while holing the tool in your right hand and pulling the trigger with your index (trigger) finger. Trying to push the safety button with when holding the tool in your left hand is do-able but cumbersome and not intuitive. The balance of the tool is well suited for height-handers as well, with the motor over the back of your right hand. This is an off-brand tool, so I expect getting replacement parts or batteries will be an issue. A general word of warning: This is a small battery operated chainsaw with and could make quick work cutting a finger or limb as fast as a branch. Please be careful and stor it with the battery removed or in a different location as an extra precaution to protect children. ... show more

This chainsaw is amazing. Its easy to use. It comes with 2 batteries, extra chain and storage case, glasses and gloves. It's hard for me to use it with 1 hand but for my husband he does fine with it with 1 hand. Its just hard for me to push button in enough to get it to cut on, I think it depends on how Im cutting because it doesnt happen everytime. Glad we got this and love using it with all the trees and bushes around our house. ... show more
