my puppy got hurt when he was at boarding. So we had to have something to make sure that he didn’t lick or bite at his wounds. This works perfectly! I got the XL for my golden retriever and it works well for her. She can still eat and drink okay but can’t reach her back end. She can sort of reach her front paws so it that was what she needed to be kept from, this device wouldn’t be the best. One thing I love about this is the weight. It’s so light and my dog is older so it’s hard for her to use our larger and heavier traditional cone. This device is large and it fits her well but if she was younger, I could see her being able to get it off. There isn’t anything overly secure keeping the device on the dog. It has Velcro keeping the circle together and then a string you can tighten to keep the neck area tighter. It does look funny on my dog bit it does the job. ... show more

It's a little bit heavier than I expected. However, not so much that it's gong to weigh a dog down. The fabric is soft, pliable and fairly thick. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but it seems like the material is thick enough to resist punctures and tears. Time will tell. What I like: --Easy to Inflate --Good amount of Adjustable Variance -- The drawstring & velcro allows you to cinch the cone securely around your dog's neck. As long as the fully extended cone isn't too tight to fit, this cone adjusts down several inches. The large fit my 36-lb terrier just right. --Wide Circumference Prevents Unwanted Licking & Chewing -- My dog had to get used to the width of this collar, occasionally still harmlessly bumps into doorways. Because it doesn't stick out in front of the dog like a traditional plastic cone, it prevents my dog from reaching his hind-end surgical site without having his whole head stuck in a "bowl." --Nice Color -- If you have to wear a cone, why not wear one in pretty teal? Face it, most dogs aren't going to like wearing a cone of any kind. However, this inflatable cone collar is a kinder option than a regular cone. Let's face it, this item will get NO good reviews from dogs. My wife loves it though because it is so much more comfortable for our pup as she heals than the cone of shame would be. So far it is working nicely, other than making it a little awkward for the dog to lay down in.

This inflatable dog cone worked really well on our dog after he was neutered. It is easy to put on as the opening is large then is tichtened down with a draw string. The outer covering is made out of a nice nylon material and helps keep them from biting the cone easily. The inner part is made of a medium weight vinyl and it inflates easily.
