Read reviews and did some research and decided to give the Midea 3.5 cu ft freezer. I had an up right freezer full size but needed the extra room. I’ve had it know 2 months and all is great! Received the box and it was a little bang up! I was very concerned that it would be dented. But with luck, it was free of any dents or damage. Yay! For 3.5 cu ft, it’s very roomy. I took it out of the box, took the cord out of the compartment it was in and plugged it in. Turned it to the setting I wanted, and waited to see how it would do. Within 30 minutes or so it was nice and cool inside. It’s very quiet, I place my hand on the top to feel it’s cool to be sure it’s still running. It’s the perfect size I was looking for. It comes with a basket and has a built in shelf on the right side, which I love. I went with this freezer also because I have a Midea dishwasher, which I absolutely love! We wanted a deep freezer to save money by buying meat and other food items that could be stored frozen in bulk. Our indoor refrigerator has a very small freezer, and we couldn't store enough frozen goods for our family of seven forcing us to make several trips to the store per week. This freezer is the perfect size for us (we got the 7.0 cubic foot model). It is so quiet I can barely hear it running even when I am standing right next to it, and the lid stays open by itself. We live in Louisiana and keep the freezer in our un-airconditioned garage. It doesn't take up much space and has had no problems keeping the same temp on the inside even when the temp outside is in the high 90's. The energy cost per year is only around 35.00. Now we don't have to worry if we have enough freezer space when we go shopping. We can take advantage of bulk meat specials and stock up on frozen fruits and vegetables. We bought this as an affordable way for just a bit more freezer space. It was easy to get out of the box and setup (lightweight and box was built to come apart) - minus the plus for it getting trapped inside, for which we had to open a side vent to get it unstuck. Product seems to be working well despite the outside damage. Fortunately, the damage is on the sides near the bottom and isn’t seen. It is missing one of the level “feet”. Very good value for the money (purchased for roughly $120). Have had no problems with it. There's no built in way to track what temperature it is exactly so it's probably best to buy a freezer thermometer with it. I got this as I just had a baby and needed more freezer space for my milk stash I was trying to get going for when my baby has to go to daycare. It works great and fits so much. I ordered the 7 Cubic Feet first, that came all dented up and 1 leg missing. So I ordered the smaller 5 Cubic Feet. It arrived dent free, it is a great size for 2 people and runs very quiet. Good price, took a bit longer to arrive. My only complaint is that the defrost drain is very low to the floor and you can not hook up a hose to run it outside. So I ordered a shallow pan and chamois for when I have to defrost. Will keep fingers crossed this works. The pan looks perfect for the job.
